Don't go for the warchief, kill the archer captain by himself.
Also, there is a way to resist poison, there's a rune that gives you immunity to it, and as for physical damage, up your health.
This is true just keep trying man, and you'll feel really satisfied when kill em.

There is epic dagger rune that makes you immune to poison.

Kill the bodyguards before, separately. Then do event to spawn the Warchief, he will now come alone.
Souls games = difficulty based on a learning curve and need to build up skill.
This piece of unholy ♥♥♥♥= artificial difficulty born out of stupid random spawn rng ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
So yeah, I hate the game. Period.
And I completely agree with you. Every preview and demo I read or watched for this game mentioned nothing about the difficulty being this ridiculous. I expected it going into the Souls games, and I'm fine with that. But ordinarily I just want to see the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ story and that's all. It's not fun having to listen to the same enemy taunting me over and over again, or dying over and over again, or spending over 4 hours trying to get past one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ part. It's stressful. Why would anyone want to play a stressful game?! I thought they were supposed to be relaxing...
It's called this isn't Call of Duty. You can't rush in and expect to slaughter everything, you need to be strategic and kill off his bodyguards before you can even try the warchief. Also intel helps alot so you know their strengths and weaknesses. Farm the low level captains for a bit if the higher levels have been fed crazy high. Think people I'm tired of seeing these game is too hard rage posts.
