Monolith you ♥♥♥♥.
Now that is awesome!
But then i remembered a while ago (a few updates back) i played some Middle-Earth and it gave me a warning when i was going to continue playing on my save, now i dont remember exactly what it said but it said something about save mismatch like the future updates will make me unable to continue my save if i update, but at the time i forgot about it. Now how would i be able to go back to the older version of Middle-Earth so i can continue my save?
Maybe answering these questions will help a bit?
1) Is Steam Cloud enabled for your Steam account?
Yes
2) Did you sign in with a WBPlay account for Shadow of Mordor?
Yes
3) How did you close the game before you lost your save (Exit normally, crashed, terminate via Task Manager, etc.)?
Last time i played game was stuck in 'loading' so the only option i had was terminate via Task Manager.
4) When you lost your save, did you launch the game through the Steam client or directly via executable/shortcut?
Steam client.
5) What was your completion % in the game when you lost your save?
I dont remember but it was about 30-40% i guess.
yes
exit normally, crash it, etc. done all of them multiple times, not sure which one when the saves was lost, almost a 100% sure i lost them with the last opdate, because i had played few hours before, it updated, i did some benchmark testing which i had done before as well and wanted to test ingame and all saves where gone.
through steam.
96%+-
its 40hours of gameplay so i am not happy at all.. this type of thing should NEVER EVER happen, there is NOTHING code wise you should touch that should remove my local safe files or the steamcloud files.... so no idea how you screwed that up.
So for those of you who planned to fail, here you go.... SAVE FILES!:

Not a great first impression for someone new to the game
Edit: Looks like the same issue in Arkham Origins -__-
Your friend, Corndog

YES
2) Did you sign in with a WBPlay account for Shadow of Mordor?
NO
3) How did you close the game before you lost your save (Exit normally, crashed, terminate via Task Manager, etc.)?
CTD
4) When you lost your save, did you launch the game through the Steam client or directly via executable/shortcut?
Steam
5) What was your completion % in the game when you lost your save?
1/2 of all side quests completed, I was at the first real boss fight in the main story, the dude with the hammer.
I'm going to look for the file in my CrashPlan backup and hopefully that will fix the issue.
I lost my save a while ago and the patch notes claim its fixed now.
Dont wanna restart untill its fixed.
Are you using the Steam Beta, they put a number of patches having to do with save game files and steam cloud. The best bet on not losing save game files (not just for this game) is to not use steam cloud, if you don't want to turn it off in all games I would still turn it off for this game.
I've ran benchmark all the way through, have changed graphic settings, and had game crash due to a hardware failure in my system right in the middle of playing game and still never lost a save I however never use steam cloud or steam overlay.
