Power level
So I'm gaining intel on all these orcs and their power level, but I can't seem to find anywhere in the game interface where it shows MY power level. I just see power required to get my next level, but not my actual power level. I've been taking down some orcs around power level 10, so i'm getting an idea who I can handle, but I'd like a concrete number before I tackle some level 15 mob.

You do not have Power Level per say.
One enemies it goes from 1-20 (5 - 25 if Warchief, I think).

What you can tackle depends enterily from what runes you have on your weapon and how skilled you are (both what skills you have unlocked and how skilful you actually are). There is no number saying "You are this good".

Your power is used to unlock the other tier in your upgrade menu. You do not have a power lvl but you collect power to raise a bar and when the bar is full it just reset like an exp bar and give you the next tier upgrade.

It is not a cRPG. Think about combat maneveurs and ranger/shadow skills. If you have decent skills, you will able to take down a 20lvl with single movements, or beat a 15 orcs mob without even blink. However, if you have a poor set of skills, a 12lvl bodyguard immune to your powers will be very hard or 'undefeatble' at the moment.

10 Years After- The character really needs a power level. Recently started this game for the first time, and I've had difficulty telling if I'm competitive or not against Captains and Warlords. Power Level 5, no problem, Level 19....ahhh?

Doesn't the skull icon indicate an enemy is at least one power level above you? So that could give a clue about a virtual power level for the player?
