Locked into 16:10 aspect ratio
Need some help guys. My monitor is a 16:10 monitor. 1680x1050

Normally I'll just run games in 1600x900 and let Nvidia Shadowplay capture at 1080p. However, Shadow of Mordor won't let me pick anything outside of a 16:10 aspect ratio. I've tried changing my desktop resolution. I've tried adjusting the scaling options in Nvidia control panel. I've tried editing .cfg files for the game. No matter what I do, I'm always locked in at 16:10 and only have the option of 16:10 resolutions once in the game configuration screen.

If you have figured out how to set a 16:9 aspect ratio when using a 16:10 monitor, please let me know. Thanks.

I think this should work: Go to documents -> WB games -> shadow of mordor you should find a .cfg file in there, just manually type the resolution you want and set the file as read-only.

Setting it to read-only was a good suggestion. Hadn't thought of that yet. Unfortunately, the game still loads up and runs at 1680x1050. I've set lock aspect ratio to 0 and manually configured the height and width to 1600x900. No go. I don't mind playing it at 1680x1050, but if I want to use the video for anything it's going to look ugly at that 16:10 ratio.

I found that if you change the display area and shrink that down when you force the captured video into a 16:9 ratio you will still have all the important information on screen and won't have those ugly blackbars.
