Are the runes you get from the season pass OP?

They all have (Epic) after them so i assume yes but that made me wonder why i have them if they are?

Overpowered? I guess. Having finished the game, most of the runes you get are utter useless crud. The epic ones from the season pass are relatively overpowered, as most runes are heavily underpowered.

It depends on your play style. I barely use most of the DLC runes. Plus, a few of them are just there to give you easy access to ones that are already in the base game.

Some are, some are just a duplicate of a couple of epic runes you can get later in the game. I have played through the game numerous times, one time used any runes I wanted, next epic runes only, next time I didn't allow my character to use epic runes, and the last run was no runes. The most powerful rune for me was the epic rune that causes fear upon brutalize attack. Brutalize attack one uruk in a crowd of 20 and all the rest run away.

that one is Orc Hunter. it also works extremely well around captains. you just need to brutalize 2-4 orcs and if they aren't fearless, they'll become terrified. much faster than chaining wraith burn together, and very OP

The epic runes in GOTY are helpful but in no way are they over powered. You will still die alot because you will have the notion that you can take on 30 orcs at the same time with your epic runes.
