I am very interested in getting this game but I am a pure pc gamer and I hate using console controllers. Is the game at least acceptable with M&K or is it as hopeless as Dark Souls without the M&K fixes? I need to know before I can purchase

I played 75 hours only with M+K!
It works really good, you won't get any troubles i think!

Yeah M&K work great. You can remap all the in-game controls, just can't rebind menu controls. Even supports Mouse Button 4 & 5 (and probably more, but I haven't tried).

The only thing is the mouse sensitivity for the camera feels weird at first, like the game has its own acceleration control, but I overcame that by just cranking up the sensitivity.

350 hours with KB/M. I'm perfectly happy with this game's controls. Don't forget that you can rebind buttons as you see fit.

Most keys are rebindable. The only thing that I came across that produced any form of discomfort (which was extremely miniscule) was how crouching is shift and control is grab. I've seen space being used as a jump/roll/sprint function but the other two had me off-guard. Still rebindable though!

Yeah, mouse and keyboard work great. I'm really glad I didn't try to play using my controller, because the bow is super-useful (read: gamebreaking) once you level up your arrow capacity a few times, and there's no way I could hope to use it effectively with the controller.

Mouse and keyboard are great! Very smooth gameplay with them.

You might want to remap some of the keys, but yes it is playable. Some of the combinations can be a bit tricky to accomplish but with some practise you'll be able to get them.
