The game stopped saving after 51%
OK, here's the story.

Everything was OK with my game until 51%. I've cleared the first map with all challenges, collectibles, etc. All that left there is The Messenger mission to go to the second map. On this point I've quit and turned off my PC. The next day I've loaded without any problem and continued my game. I was on 94% with everything, but the lost hunting challenge and some of the main story quests for that dwarf left (I've got all those Warchiefs, but was in need to finish with the dwarf to proceed to the finale). On this point I've quit again and turned off my PC. BUT the next day it turned out that the game sent me back at the 51% [insert heart attack here]. But OK, I've heard that this game has savegame problem and I've MADE the backups after every few hours. So, I thought that I'm save and I can just load the backups. But guess what? It turned out that the game just stopped saving after 51% and all of my backups after that point are just the same file with 51% save (didn't pay attention to the time stamps, didn't know that saving system is THAT screwed up here). So, I have about 20 hours of my life lost [insert the hate speech here] :gs_angry: But OK, I'm an idiot and ready to do all that again. But the problem is... the game STILL doesn't save. I didn't do anything with it, just turned off my PC. It was OK before 51%, now it just doesn't save.

What I did try

1.I've tried to run the game as administrator. It didn't help.
2.I've tried to delete the 241930 folder from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\21372835 completely, then start the
brand new game. It didn't help too. The game just don't want to create,
or update gamedata.sav anymore.
3.Loading the other people's saves. It did work, but I can't find any save with the progress similar to mine (all Warchiefs branded, everything, but the final hunting challenge is done,
but the dwarf missions still unfinished). So, I feel like I don't want to miss the dwarf part
and want to re-do the second map again, but... I can't make the game to save.

What I'm currently trying to do

I'm trying to re-install the game. But it's like 50GB and it takes forever on my 10MB/s channel... So, I think I'll ask here while re-installing. I'm bored anyway.

I didn't change anything about my system, the game just stopped saving after 51%. I know that many people had this problem and I've seen some other topics with the same problem here, but neither of those solutions from there helped me, as you can see above.

Some other info

OS: Win 10 (no silly "it sucks" comments, please, it worked well until 51%)
WBPlay (or whatever it's called) account is created and verified (it goes offline from time to time, though, so, it shows "disconnected" from time to time)
Steam Cloud - I've tried both enabled and disabled with the same results.
Version of the game: GOTY with all DLC and HD content.

So, aside from the fact that I should never ever buy from WB, who ignored the whole problem (just checked the pinned post and it looks like they're still "looking" into it after the whole year passed), any ideas how to fix the game? Or I should just finish the main story from the other people's savegame and forget about DLC? It's really, REALLY frustrating experience. I've seen some games that deleted the saved games, but it's the first game for a very long time in my life that just don't want to save no matter what :footprint:

EDITED: Even after I've re-installed the game, it still doesn't save.

OK, I did it. The game saves again. And it looks like a Steam-related problem to me. Here's what I did. First of all, run the steam client and then disconnect from the internet. Then delete the whole C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOUR STEAM ID\241930\ folder (backup it if you want to load your old progress later). Delete localconfig.vdf from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOUR STEAM ID\config. Try running the game. It'll give you some errors about Steam, just press A (if you're using the gamepad). I've played through the whole tutorial until the game started properly on that tower. After that, quit. Note that the game didn't even created the new 241930 folder on this point. Now connect to the internet again (i've just removed the cable), exit the steam client and launch it again. Note that the folder 241930 will be created again and the file remotecache.vdf will be made in it. Somehow, the whole problem looks related to this exact file for me. Because before the steps above, even after I've deleted the whole folder, Steam used to make this file again and in it there was a data about my old save file even if the file was deleted long ago and the whole folder was empty. But after the steps above, Steam made this file with the fresh info about the clean save data. NOW start the game and play through the intro again. You'll see that the new folder called "remote" will be created and in it there'll be GameData.sav file. Which means that the game finally saves. Yay. Now if you want to continue your old saved game, copy your old GameData.sav over the existed one. Run the game, do something like collecting herbs, or killing uruks, then quit and check the GameData.sav timestamp. If it was updated, then the game saves again. You can continue. That's it. Not sure if all steps above are necessary, but that's exactly what helped me. I hope it'll help the others too.

P.S. You may want to disable Steam Cloud while doing all that. You can enable it after the game will start saving again, BUT do that only after you'll be in the game, or it'll download your old savegame you may not want to use.
