There's a bow/arrow skill upgrade that allows you to shoot an arrow 'pinning' the enemies foot to the ground...(I forget the name).. this is useful to keep them from running away, while you kill off all the surrounding enemies. once everyone is dead, I'd approach the 'pinned' uruk and interrogate him
2. Farming early is useless. You cannot spend those skill points without making progress anyway, while with said progress you'll open more missions and understand how your abilities work, which in turn eases the grind, makes it faster and more fun.
3. After progressing further you'll be able to get intel from liberated human slaves, dead orcs, etc.
4. Letting your self get killed can be used to your advantage - your killer increases his power level, thus you'll get even more power for killing him, plus a better rune.
