What is considered a combat finisher?
I killed a captain with a weakness to combat finishers (Can be injured by combat finishers) and killed him with an execution (triangle + circle on PS4 controller or top and right buttons, the killing move when your hitstreak is charged) and when I picked up the drop, I didn't get the bonus for exploiting their weakness. Am I misunderstanding how the drop level works?

Honesty, I'm not sure if this exploiting weakness bonus even exists. I had a captain vulnerable to steal finishers, as in he'll die immediately to a steal finisher, which I did, and I didn't get the bonus.

The weapon augments. The runes.

AFAIK, exploiting a captain's weakness just provides you with more XP. It's not related to what the captain drops. What governs that is the captain's level.

Exploiting a weakness (Not just Vulnerability) means a higher chance of dropping the weapon type of the rune that the weakness is associated with - as well as higher rune level (unless it is a Legendary, since they Don't have levels)
Amazing system, if you ask me ........
