Are there any mods for this game?

Well maybe not the cosmetic ones because I don't really care about them, are there any custom challenges or a hard mode mod?

I would love to know this as well. The game is too easy for me, and I can't get the satisfaction of killing a difficult captain if I can just easily vault-stun over them, use a combo takedown, and do that like, 2-3 times. (Seriously, Vault-stun and flurry is insanely OP.) The easiness really takes away from the otherwise great Nemesis system by making captains just barely more powerful than basic soldier, and warchiefs little more than just captains with a prequisite random mission. I'd love for the game to be more difficult, cause as it stands, it's a good game, but so easy it actually takes away from the feature which is the selling point of the game. (Which I find great irony in. The system meant to make the game more challenging, and therefore rewarding and satisfying, ruined by the game being not challenging enough.)

This game is... purely the most incredible fun game to come out in the past 8 years. However it is beleagured by the brevity of it's experience.

Same, I'll definitely be buying SoM2, probably even save up to buy it on release, just to give as much money as possible to these awesome developers, and be sure to put it on the highest difficulty so I might have a bit of challenge.

Who cares about multiplayer anyways? It isn't like you would expect anything else from Warner Bros. Pretty sure a lot of people have seen these videos complaining about the microtransactions that will lead into P2W multiplayer. What makes it worse is that I've heard it's like FOB bases in MGS V: The Phantom Pain, which would mean that being attacked by other players and losing your resources isn't optional.

They complain because they want to buy the game, not pirate it.

If they want to commit a crime, then they can risk it and face the consequences (as rare as the consequences are). So, if you don't want to buy the game, DON'T BUY IT, and definitely don't complain about it to other players which only annoys people.

You can lose your orcs in singleplayer with this multiplayer feature afaik, maybe I'm wrong.
Talkin' about piracy here, because if you don't want to have multiplayer and microtransactions forced down your throat then this is definetely THE option (unless you can disable online in game and the only downside is not being able to participate in it and gain small rewards from it, like Watch_Dogs for example). Personally I'm just gonna wait and see how this plays out, if I happen not to buy it I'll always have another title to play.

Yeah I agree. I'm not getting Shadow of War until A) I get a PC that can run it, and B) The price goes down in a year or two.

Can you tell me how does ranked work? I know you can lose stuff in ranked, but is your fortress available in ranked if you never play in ranked?
