Does anyone know what makes dead orcs come back?
I read somewhere if it was a pile of bones they are gone for good, and that only happens when beheaded. That seems to be accurate so far, but there are plenty of ones that are just laying there and when I pass time or something, people just get promoted into their place. They never stand back up.

Now, I have seen some orcs I killed before and they say things like "You should check your kills next time." (I think he died of fall damage) And "Better you thought you'd never see me again!" Who I *think* I killed in combat, but I am unsure.

Now I'm not here complaining why I can't permenently be rid of them, I'm here for the opposite. My problem is I face them, they die, and there isn't ever really much history or full experience of the nemesis system, since most captains/warchiefs I fight are new, since all the old ones died.

So do we know yet anything that could bring the knocked down guys back, or just ensure they come back eventually? Or rather, prolong their life... anything, really?

It's possibly random aside from you decapitating them.

Ensure you don't decapitate them, so finish off Captains with fire, explosions, fall damage etc. Anything that doesn't result in their head cut off. Not sure if death by branded Uruks counts as a permanent death.

Another element is how easy or difficult the Captain is. If you end the fight without getting hit, then that particular Captain might be too weak to be worth resurrecting. If you're getting your ass handed to you, but you get a clutch, then it's possible that Uruk will be back.

When they come back their body will have a scar according to how they "died". Fire will produce scars or cover their head with bags. Bow kills result in plates on their head.

If you want to keep a nemesis there's always the option of letting Uruks go so they grow a hatred for Talion.

Thanks! Since you are so helpful. Got a few more questions if you don't mind answering.

1. If I brand all the captains do all orcs including random ones become friendly? Or is there some kind of reward?

2. Is there enough inventory space to hold one of every epic rune?

3. Also is there any sort of stat screen or something to feel some cumulative display of accomplushment? Total uruks killed, total exp, total power gained, etc? Power and exp seems to stop counting at max level.

4. What is max power level for a captain? I can't seem to get my warchief past 20 but I saw level 25 ones in the celebrimor campaign. Is the max 20 normally and 25 in the other campaign or something?

You can force uruk to reappear if you want, let him kill you twice and that is enough for them to become almost unkillable unless you decapitate them, you can find detailed explanation in reddit from some very dedicated fellow.

1. Not all orc will be friendly if you brand all the captains, there are always those random soldiers wandering around that are not branded, captains some time does have group with him that are all working for you, it does make game boring though so it's better to not brand too many.

2. You can hold all the epic runes, but you have to start breaking normal ones at some point as otherwise ground will be filled with runes making things very annoying, also if you don't collect them game will start to crash when there is too many.

4. Max power for captain/warchief is 20 for normal campaing and hunt DLC, in Bright lord DLC their power can get up to 25
