HDR
According to this[www.resetera.com] SoM has HDR, so how do I enable it?

Well, as I read it on that site, "SoM offers a super simplified approach, the game is always outputting 10k nit maximum and the tone mapping is left entirely to the TV."

So the only setting I can find is in Video options, and then choose higher resolution, like more than 100%. (I think the 200% is like HDR or 4K ?)
The rest is up to a capable TV i guess.
I havent tried that through a TV though.

Resolution has nothing to do with HDR. SDR (as in no HDR) has a max of around 350 nits. HDR raises the peak brightness (and also lowers the peak darkness) to achieve a higher contrast without over exposing highlights or under exposing darkness. It also allows high color bit depth (usually 10 bit, but can be 12 bit). When all of those are combined it's "HDR" (High Dynamic Range). HDR has nothing to do with resolution and I am sure most people who have experienced HDR will take HDR over higher resolution simply because HDR looks amazing.
That's what i thought. Am i correct then, it would only work on a TV that can handle HDR, like the new ones, and if so SoM works right out of the box?

I own both games. SoM does not have HDR but SoW does. I can tell because my tv stays in hd10 mode when its hdr and when its not it switches to standard.

Okay, SoM really does not have a HDR option. But a little tweak is possible to force play in HDR. In windows 10, click on the start menu, go to Settings, System and then go to Video. Turn on the option to play games and Apps in HDR and your windows will turn on HDR mode (later just turn off when you'll done playing). Open the game and go in the Video Settings. There in exibition mode, choose the bordeless one. With this metod you can force to run this or any game in HDR.

No, that isn't HDR. The only thing you are doing is placing SDR content in an HDR container without any proper reverse tone-mapping.

Now if that properly tone-mapped the SDR luminance to HDR luminance (so lets say 100 nits to 1000 nits, and 0.5 nits to 0.05 nits as an example), then while it would be fake HDR, it still might look alright (fake HDR can be done properly and still look good). However, the current implementation is not doing that, so you just get a dim, washed out, "grey" image because of how HDR works (HDR isn't just SDR+, it's an entirely new color and luminance standard!).

Currently, there is no reverse tone-mapping method on PC that actually works properly in real-time, and applies to the desktop. The closest thing I know is Special K, but that attempts to replace the game's tone-mapper to give the game a real HDR implementation, and it doesn't work with most games.
