it is just a thought on this game. Thanks for the feedback.
But at least we have the upcoming TV series to look forward to :)
They made a live-action trailer though. Kind of cool. Sorry I have no link.
when it comes to Tolkiens works though, as you research it more and more it becomes increasingly difficult to come to a clear consensus regarding what is actually canon and not. As Tolkien was revising his works throughout his entire existance. Even the films are not technically canon, they are adaptations and they had to alter a lot of things, remove some and add others, but such is the way with the mode of adaptation in general.
This game is an extrapolation of the films for sure, but supplemented with a lot of research on the developers part into the world of Arda.
Aesthetically it is an off-shoot of the films. And the graphics and such are good enough that they allready kind of seem like a film if you ask me.
Regarding the TV series...I am really wondering as to what they are going to do with it. Are they just telling Frodo's story again? Or are they going to tell different chronicles from Arda? I think the latter would be cool. Show us Tom Bombadillo and Beren and Luthien and such characters at least. Not really sure if I should be excited...because it could go south. They really need the best people working on it for it to become great...
That's enough gabbin'
If you don't LIKE Tolkien, this post clearly isn't aimed at you. The only people who would be interested in a SoM movie are Tolkien fans. That much should be obvious.
Honestly, I'd be kind of afraid.Video game adaptations don't usually end well, and the Hobbit movies just weren't anywhere NEAR the same level of quality as LOTR was. I'm scared enough for the tv series.
