Do not kill if you're able to mark them, do it, find spot with wide view and enjoy the slauther.

There is you don't have to fight a Capitan and warchef at same time

And what's the point to make this game easier? It is easy enough. Just combine tactics, sneak in, make ambush, kill from below or above, blow up, release flies, lure beasts everything just for fun.

To have you make a decision.

Do I take them head-on and deal with possible strengths / invulnerabilities from one or more captains I don't know, or do I take the time to learn about them, then knock them down one by one before cornering the Chief (almost) all alone?
Plus any mixture of the above: Take down one specific bodyguard who's really strong when he is alone / sabotage an event where he is involved, then take the two weakling bodyguards you already know about and plow through them to their Chief to take him down.

The point is to give you options how to tackle a problem or a goal you have set, depending on the situation you are facing.

You do not have to defeat the bodyguards before fighting the warchief; it is entirely optional. If left alive, the bodyguards will join the fight when you challenge the warchief. If you kill the bodyguards first, then the warchief won't have their help. So yes, killing the bodyguards before starting a warchief missions does make the game easier.

easier to capture points (during fotress siege) as well i guess as there will be less captains (and his gangs if any) to protect them

I killed the bodyguards for two warchiefs now and they reappeared when facing the warchiefs.

So you have not killed them properly ;)

Every playthrough, there are a certain number of orcs that CAN return form the dead (they "cheated death"). There are also hidden mechanics as to how and when this happens - you likely have triggered those mechanics so those bodyguards returned.

It's a feature.

I'm not certain if it's 5 or more times this can happen in one playthrough (to get an orc that comes back).

Well, at some point I have now decided not to try to kill all orcs anymore. The game is very repetitve as it is, I didn't want to grind more.
Early on, yes it makes it easier if you kill the bodyguards first, that way you dont have to fight them on top of the warchif.

once you unlock abilites and get stonger, its not as needed, but depening on the warchif still a good suggestion.

When you fnally unlock Brand (main story mission reward) killing them becomes pointless, its better to Brand them, then acitave it and have them fight along side you
