If you don't have branding yet, Kill the archers beforehand. If you're fighting a captain who has a follower group of archers/spearmen, then just use your focus to headshot them all.
That's the easiest solution. I throw in some Shadow Strikes followed by a quick melee execution for some pizzazz.
I'll fight berserkers and shield Uruks all day, but range Uruks are horrible to fight. Captains with the quickened reflexes and explosive bolts are the worst. Positioning is important. Range units stay outside the group you're fighting, so I'll jump over a couple enemies to close the distance.
It's working great! When I tried it the first time, I must have been out of slow motion, haha. I figured it was a typical stealth-only mechanic, but boy am I ever glad that's not the case.
It makes fights so much more fun.
You can weave focus kills in combat. Say you're in the middle of a fight and at 7/8 streak before you get an execution. Use focus to score a headshot, then immediately mash the execution button. Keep those helmets flying :>
Oh Woah, that'll come in handy. There's a timed "kill 20 enemies" mission that I wasn't quite fast enough for... I'll be able to do it no problem now! :D
