I've beaten the story... now how do I travel?

I've completed the story in the regular game, but it won't let me travel between Nurn and Udun and the symbol on the map that bridges the two areas states that I must complete more story missions in order to continue? How do I transverse between the two areas now?

Once you've entered the Sea of Nurnen phase you can travel freely back and forth to Udun at anytime by hovering your mouse over the gate symbol... you don't need to complete the main mission to do this. :j

I should explain that I was sent back to the Udun area after completing the story and I am now stuck in the area. I have completed all missions except for a few outcast missions and I have completely branded every warchief. The symbol that allows me to travel is grayed out and it tells me to complete more story missions in order to travel, but I've completed every story mission

Aahh... OK, so it's either a "glitch" of some kind or there is another story mission on your map somewhere... I haven't completed the main story line so I really can't speak to this. :j

The only missions I have left to complete are outcast missions. I left Udun before completing all of the missions originally while just trying to complete the story.

Just verified the cache; no fix.

Try fast travelling around and advancing time, see if that changes anything.

You likely have a corrupted save then.
