But you probably missed where it gave you Mirian points for each item found, and those points are quite useful in upgrading your character.
Also, neverminding lore-accuracy, the stories connected to the items provide some flavour, adding some depth to the game.
Only Mirian is VITAL to UNLOCKING new abilities...
And again, it also "unlocks" more of the games story, wether you care about that or not is irrelevant, so the collectibles HAVE a use..
