it says at bottom you need 160 or each product

I believe it assumes you want to make the max that it can queue for production (and not just one).

its 20 per product, 160 fills it up so you can get 8, you can then top it up as you go if you are staying logged in or you can go away for an hour or so and collect all 8 and start the cycle over again.

That is really messed up. They need to change the description amount so people understand it will take 160 per building. I didn't see the 160 at bottom because the 20 was listed at top. Used up all my inventory before I realized it and still didn't understand why. If you want 1 you should be able to get it or put a little sliding scale 1-8 for you to choose how many.

Hi!

There are a couple things to note in regards to this:

1- Capacity depends on the building level, so the shop information (which is for a level 1 building) won't be always accurate (capacity starts at 10, but increases with level, at the same rate as production speed).
2- We didn't add a slider / pop-up UI becaue it would get annoying really fast when you refill a few buildings in a row, so we went with the same behavior used to feed animals, and made it so you spent as many resources as possible when interacting.

It's true that store description could be more clear in regards to initial capacity, but we don't plan on adding a way to limit resource input.

But what if I don't want to spend all possible resources in this one building?

You can't. There're more resources where those came from, and you'll get more jam/cheese/honey to use on shops later.

essentially I think i'm right in stating, 1 jam machine replaces what would of taken 8 or more in FT1, so if you place 10 machines you better get farming those apples and Pears, though once filled if you are staying logged in its easy to keep these topped up.

That was the idea when designing the new production buildings. You can still have a few of them around if you want, but it's not really required.
