Another look at the flower resource change
The main problem with the flower resource change is because we have trained ourselves to associate the resource icons with the names/colors RED, WHITE, YELLOW, BLUE and PURPLE.

In fact there are no official names for any of the resources in Farm Together 2. I’ve looked – nowhere are there names for any of the resources harvested. (An exception is mushrooms – because there is a mushroom shop in town.)

All resources in Farm Together 2 are identified solely by the given icon – no name given in any language. I’m sure this is intentional.

So – we, along with the developers interacting with us, have created our own words to define these resources. Unfortunately, the names red, white, yellow, blue and purple we have used to identify the flower resources are no longer valid. This is a tough connection to break!

Consider this: We have long had a purple squash icon to represent various vegetables – of many different colors. A red pepper icon represents green, yellow and red peppers. A purple grape icon is for multiple colors in grapes. The list goes on.

None of the above has anything to do with our frustration and the undoing of the work we’ve put in to organize our farms. But hey – this is early access!

I just thought this was interesting.

What do you mean? The name of the item is in the plant menu. I really like the new flower system, it makes more sense to have like flowers instead of them being spread everywhere to match color.

OP is referring to the name of the resource that you get from harvesting, not the name of the item (be it a crop, flower, fish or...) that you harvest. Like if you harvest bananas you get a "pineapple" resource. I consider that category exotic fruits, but there aren't any official names for the categories - that I know of anyway. There are just icons. Not that it matters to me. I don't need there to be names for them and I have no issues with the change to the flower categories. :)
Just to be clear: I LIKE this new flower resource change. I remember looking at the flower resources when I first started the game and wondering why all the roses weren't producing the same resource!

Many of us have invested a lot of time into organizing our farms a certain way, and some of the changes made in 'early access' affect us more than others.

My initial post in this thread is an attempt to analyze why this change has been so difficult for some players. As always - I respect and appreciate what the developers are doing with this game.
