Terraforming
I have been trying to lower the square tallish land and I got the middle but can't get the outside parts to lower. How do I do that or is that something that you cant lower? Thanks

You have to use the square type land for the square and the hill for the hill in terraforming.

You can lower everything. Just keep working with the tools until you get the hang of it. But the general guideline is to use the sloping tool on land with sloping edges and the cliff tool on land with cliff edges. In some areas it can be a bit like a puzzle, you may need to do one first before you can do the other.

Thanks to you both! I will try again before I give up completely. :)

Ok I got it. I did waste a few diamonds earlier but now I know. Thanks so much! Wish it wasn't so expensive!!

As you level up and expand your farm to finish quests more easily, diamonds start to build up much faster than most players will use them just for terraforming. At that point expanding your farm and decorating (adding paths, fences, decor, etc) are likely to become the main diamond sink.

So your longer-term diamond balance will depend on how ambitious you are to decorate and expand. Having enough diamonds for terraforming won't be a big issue unless you have major goals for sculpting the land up and down (rather than just flattening it).

For me the shift to having lots of diamonds happened around farm level 40 or 50, but I was very focused on completing quests, so ymmv. (Currently at farm level 107,)

PS Ignore the part about quests in my last post, when I wrote that I was getting medals and diamonds mixed up in my head. But the point remains that as you expand, diamonds for terraforming will be a non-issue unless you have very ambitious plans for shaping the land, rather than just flattening it.
