Lands With Snow Or Sand

Are the lands covered with snow or sand permanent, or can the surfaces be altered? Covered with grass for example. I Recently learned that I can cover "mud patches" with grass, so hoping I can do the same with the sand and snow lands. Wanted to check before actually unlocking a piece and being disappointed.

Yes, just purchase grass tiles from the Terrain menu.
