FLAT LAND
Whose idea is it to remove flat land?
Is landscaping done at 29 or 30 levels?
It would be better if it was unlocked at level 5.
Shaping the land flat is very difficult and complex.
We bought your game for fun and enjoyment, we thought it was like your first game, but your second game is a complete disgrace.
I feel sorry for the money we spent, we bought 3 of them so we could play them as a family, but we can't play the game because we are trying to level the land.
You are definitely thinking that players should not return your game.
If only we could figure it out in 10 minutes we would have returned it sooner.
Your 2nd game should be better than the first, but your 1st game is better and your 2nd game is a disgrace even if it is in early access.
We will never buy your new games.
We shouldn't have been bothered with land shaping...

Sad but ... your loss.

I don't think that's a very fair assessment.

It is early access, so they will be adding more to it as it develops. It's awesome as it is, but exciting that more will come.

Flattening the farm is not the only thing the game is about. Level 30 to unlock teraforming is quite reasonable. You don't even have the entire farm unlocked by then. And.. it's something to work toward.

As Adesanya said.. your loss.

Terraforming is not that hard. And its EA, so give it some time.

I was a little upset about at first too. But once I got the terraforming, it is actually pretty fun. This is early access and the devs are listening to people and doing the best they can. I think they are doing a wonderful job. If you can't work through it, then wait a bit and try again in a few months. I'm rather enjoying playing and watching the game grow. Great game guys. Keep up the good work.

Oh, I understand you all too well.
If I want to create a new farm, I need between 30 to 50 attempts until a reasonable landscape is created that is suitable for building a farm. Otherwise, the chunks are so jagged that they prevent you from building a proper farm.

The Flatland Chunk exists in the game. I don't know why you don't have an option to create a pure flatland farm at the beginning. Then you still have the opportunity to use terraforming to design the farm the way you want. Then you can still create your own personal farm with mountains, rivers and biomes.

The flatlands were added later in Farm Together 1 because more and more players were asking for them. Unfortunately, you were punished with a 20% penalty on everything if you used it.

Let's see how the game develops and whether the flatland artists will be supported in part 2.

The flatlands were added not because more and more people asked for them, but more and more people where complaining about the rocks and set ponds with bridges getting in the way and only way to fix it was restart or edit your save.

In this second game those boulders and ponds&bridges don't exist and they introduced terraforming where you can adjust the remaining terrain heights. But it only unlocks at farm level 30, which isn't to high in the grand scheme though with the current content it is still annoying to wait for it up to that level.

Also the devs already said they will not reintroduce flat lands from the start, but will probably look into methods where you can flatten your whole farm easy in batch terraforming.

When creating a new farm, the chunks are created randomly.
Wouldn't it be much easier to start with a flatland chunk option right away? Then you save yourself the trouble of looking for ways to convert the unlocked chunks into flatland chunks on existing farms.

Would it really be so bad if players wanted to start with a flatland farm and they actually had the option?

I love the terraforming. It adds something different to it. My land is flat, I flatten it when I unlock it. Sure it costs... but I like a challenge. It gives you a sense of accomplishment when you do it. I hate games that are too easy...

What a troll. The game is very good.
It's more fun than the FT1.
Go back to your sandbox to play.
Adesanya May 16, 2024 @ 11:19am
"They" complained about the lack of flat land in FT1 .... enough to pressure the devs into the option. This is much better. If you want flat land, just flatten it ... relax .. the whole family can still play. sheesh

If that's true, it would seem a bug that should be reported to the devs.

With the terraforming options and the fact that there is no more unremovable rocks and ponds makes this game allready better than the first one. In the first game i used flat land only becauuse it was the less annoying piece of land to use for farming purposes. I quite enjoy how this new game present things and allready have more ideas for my farm than i couuld ever dreamt of doing in the first game.

Or a change they made to give it to the players earlier. and forgot to mention it in the patch notes, I for one like it that they brought it to use a bit earlier, always thought that it should be closer to farm level 20-25 then 30, especially on how sometimes you can get screwed by the randomness of extended map chunks and would have to restart.

"forgot to mention"?

Nah, I don't believe that for a minute.

Unless the devs post saying they deliberately changed it.. or someone can link to a dev saying they changed it.. I don't believe they changed it and forgot to tell everyone. I just don't.
