and see.. I'm of the opinion that you're entitled to that opinion.. but nobody else has to agree with you.

There are tons of games available if a life sim is what you want (marriage, kids, etc) but there just aren't that many that don't have that.. which is exactly what appealed to me about the original FT1.

And it's not just "farming". It's crops and flowers and trees and fish and buildings to level and expansions to unlock and quests to do and food to cook and painting and playing the piano.

And if you genuinely "get bored" with it.. it's easy enough to go back to SDV (and there, if 2 kids aren't enough you can use mods and have as many as you want to).

I have 8K hours in the first iteration of this game.. and never, not one minute was I bored.
I have over 400 hours in this one.. and not a single second of it has been boring.

You don't currently have an indicator of owning the game (and I do) so as someone who has been actively playing and I'm not bored with it, I really think if you believe you would be bored with it with what it offers.. you should find another game.

This discussion has already been had before. These devs are outstanding and responded to that early discussion. The response, if I recall correctly, was that they had no plans to add marrying NPC's, but that they might consider (later on down the road) a DLC that could offer player to player marriage.. or something along those lines.

IMO, it's the best of the best of farming sims.. if you don't want to give it try.. don't.

But it's unfair to claim it's not worth playing (when you don't even play it, and haven't) or that it wouldn't be worth playing if it doesn't have features you personally want.

Plenty of games "worth playing" don't have marriage and kids. If that's what you want.. I'd first suggest Stardew Valley.. and then pretty much any of the Harvest Moon variants.

Many of us just want to farm.. in this farming game.
You and a few people gave your opinion and me and others gave the opposite opinion. You think that this game and others are ok without marriage and others think any game of this type requires marriage to be fun and successful. You think that this game is worth trying without marriage and others completely disagree. I would never believe anyone who said that they played a game for 8k and I especially wouldn't believe it if someone said they never got bored after that amount of time. If done correctly additional content only makes a game better, you just don't play tge parts that you don't like, if there is marriage and having children in a game nobody is going to force you to marry a girl and impregnate her or nobody is going to force you to marry a guy and force you to get impregnated. At the end of the every player will make their own decision wether or not this game is worth trying without marriage and kid, i personally I think that the number of players that will want a game like this without marriage and children will be extremely low but only time will tell and everyone has tge right to make whatever decision that they want for whatever reason that they want

This discussion has already been had like 3 times before, with the same bunch that keep starting new threads on this same topic... opportunist looking for arguments.

If I remember right the dev answered in the first thread that there won't be marriage or storylines in this game because they don't have a story writer on staff.

Besides the farming and other things you mentioned there is also the events that will be added soonish which are a big draw in the first game and will be in this game as well.

If they don't like what the game has to offer, or what will be added going by the roadmap, they can move on.

Every person that has started a discussion about marriage and children has been a different person. A lot of the people who respond and support the discussion are the people. If mskitty doesn't like the discussion then mskitty can move on

Actually, mskitty owns the game. Clearly, if she wanted to move on she would.

It's clear that you don't want the game (it'll bore you) so why then do you think the devs should change a game you don't own.. won't play cause you'll get too bored with it.. just because you want them to add a feature?

Somebody needs to move on alright, but it isn't mskitty.

Devs have said "marriage and kids" won't be added. Now you know this (and I'm sure you're familiar with the devs response to the last thread about this topic) game simply isn't a game for you.

'nuff said.

Thanks @mskitty I had forgotten it was because they didn't have a writer on staff.

The game is currently in early access and anything could change. Don't go saying that you think that people are entitled to their opinions and then argue with every statement that they make and then tell them to move on. The game has potential depending on choices made during development

And when those choices have already been made and don't fit your idea, it's time for you to move on.

If the devs have already said there won't be marriage to NPC's (and they HAVE) and you want to insist the game isn't worth playing without that (and you HAVE) there's nothing left to discuss and you're only here to argue.

It's already been decided. Have fun.

I will move on whenever I feel like it! You said yourself that they might add this feature through dlc. If the game is in early development and they might add these features through dlc then they might just change their minds and add these features to the main game. There is always things to discuss when a game is in early development, just not with you.

I only keep commenting because you keep commenting which forces me to respond. We are never going to agree so it is probably best if we stop responding to each other.

Clearly I wouldn't need to respond now, if your statement had been truthful.

I didn't say they "might add" THIS feature (marriage to npc's and kids). And NO, they won't add it to the "main" game (good grief, you can't force it on everyone that plays the game).

They've already said they will NOT add marriage to NPC's. Only that they might consider adding DLC that would allow marriage between players. NOT between a player and NPC's and NO kids. and you can already pretend that anyway. So go pretend that.

They don't have the writers for what you want. Chose not to see that part too, huh?

You can stop responding at any time you so choose to. You stop telling lies and I'll consider not responding.

Again, go have fun in whatever game you want to. If it's this one, awesome. If it's not this one, awesome.

We have answered this person/people over and over again that marriage to NPC's will Not be
added to this game.

It's a mute topic that has turned into spamming this forum.

That is my line! Clearly I wouldn't need to respond if your comment had been truthful. I can't stop responding because you seem to have this desperate need to get in the last word.

Some things won't be added because they don't match the direction of the game itself, and it has nothing to do with whether the game is in the early access stage, and there are some farm sims that will have love elements, because these themselves are more inclined to simulate a new life, and this game is only biased towards farming, planting, and harvesting. If you still think you should add a love element, then I'll give you my opinion, I like guns, zombies, flying spoons, and sprinklers that can cook automatically, and I hope to add these things to the game :)

The reason why I got involved in this discussion was for the hope that people in this community will understand the motives behind this thread. It's a widespread problem with this bunch across multiple forums on multiple topics that unsuspecting people keep getting sucked into.

And you are absolutely right that these posts don't need to be commented on any further, and I hope that people see that now.

This game needs marriage and children. Some people will be okay without being able to have marriage and children but most people would prefer the option of marriage and children. Either way the game is going to be whatever it is going to be.
