Truth,
They wanted to hear our input to make changes and improvements. That's what they are going to get. Sure, telling people get over it is really the opposite of what what Milk Stone or whoever first opened FT2 for us to try out. They wanted our opinions. They wanted to know what our wishes are. We give them our opinions and wish list.
It works just fine for having equal amounts of colors for the beehives, sometimes it's best not to overthink things.
Hi!
We apologize for the problems caused. It's one of those cases where we should have acted earlier. Categorizing resources by color was a BAD idea, as it wasn't future-proof at all, caused some flower types to be misrepresented depending on resources (let's say there are more pink than blue flowers), and it prevented us from adding new resources in higher levels (because all colors are already available as daisies in lower levels).
The new categorization, roughly based (as with many other resources in the game, to avoid having an excessive number of them) on shape / flower family, makes more sense and is a better fit with the way items are unlocked and how they're handled in the other categories. To be honest, fish has a similar problem and we may take a similar approach in the future, but it's not as crowded yet.
We understand this can be a nuisance for people that had flowers organized by resource, as it may take some time to reorganize them. But since there's no demand in-game yet for a specific flower resource (other than the honey makers, which in most cases shouldn't require that much of a change), there's no actual benefit to having them organized by resource (actually the opposite, as you'll be able to harvest more of them before filling the storage).
In the specific case of the christmas poinsettia unlock, it's a low-level, low-duration flower (because event items are always low level, to make sure everyone can participate), so it's assigned to a resource that matches similar unlock conditions (poinsettias are a high level resource with high rarity, and it's not requested for upgrades until you get to a high level).
Overall, event reward items are showing this kind of problem where they usually don't match their non-event counterpart (or give no resource at all), so we may end up adding a new special resource to handle them (probably not requested for shop upgrades, to avoid problems).
The change is perfectly fine. And sure it would have been handy, if the change had happened earlier, but that's how early access goes. Sometimes devs realise they should have done something differently - it's all part of the process. This change is nothing compared to playing an early access game where an update includes a forced wipe of save games and having to start all over lol
Keep up the good work!
