How to properly automate jam production ❤️
How to properly automate jam production

I have over 20 helpers: apples and pears. Apples dominate every season, while pears only last for three. But quite often, there's not enough apples. How can I ensure there are always enough?

Please share your experience in production automation.

Thank you, with love, Kasperr.❤️

I just planted more apples .....

I use an extra pear w/farmhand field since pears don't harvest in winter. If you try to accommodate the NPC's in the town and end up giving them apples in exchange for diamonds and ribbons, it's nearly impossible to keep the numbers even or keep from running low on items. Then I try not to nearly empty the shop inventory for diamonds.

I don't understand how you could have an apple shortage. When I first started playing I placed 30 apple trees and now I have 387 from all of the freebies from unlocking land plots, and there is still a bunch more on plots I haven't unlocked, plus there is 4 other variety's of apple trees.

For the pears there are 6 trees that give those, like the plum for example, so unless you have all of your orchard covered with hands, or harvest yourself every season, you are not going to get the full harvest of apples and pears from all trees, it's not just the one type apple or pear tree.

Also it could depend on how many jam machines you have, I only have one but usually load it 2-3 times a day and still end up with about 1000 apple surplus to trade in town for diamonds.

I have more than 2 thousand apples and pears. Helpers collect everything, everyone manages to do it, but there are still not enough apples, because there are more of them

What do you mean there are more of them? The machine takes equal amounts to fill, 280 each of apple and pear on max level.

Did you maybe use a bunch of apples on a shop upgrade and forgot that you did that? Because that could throw the normal count off and look as though the apples are not producing as they should be. Maybe don't fill the jam machine for awhile and see if your counts even out.

I have worked out how to use all 25 farmhands to automate jam and juice production. See this post (and the referenced Google Drive Doc):

Doing this is a lot of hard work!! Not really what Farm Together 2 is all about! However for some of us, it seems to be!

One farmhand to work the Production Buildings and the other 24 to work the apple, pear and citrus trees. Note that once you get more than about 15 of each of the buildings going, it will take you 1-2 hours of the game running to catch up once you start the game. (Trying to automate the cheese and honey buildings becomes a little too much! You can have the 1 farmhand working the buildings, but you will end up working the flowers, dairy and feed crops yourself with your tractor - and it will take most of your time!!)

You don't have any hands on bamboo/lettuce for cow feed? Because that eliminates having to plant that feed crop. Also the spice tree variety's harvest through 3 seasons with 2 in summer and it's a good resource for medal exchange.

mskitty, your ideas on using the farmhands is good, however my use of them (as laid out above) has been only towards automating resource for the Production Buildings.

I'm sure there are many other ways to maximize their efficiency. (I also suspect that I'm perverting the main concepts of Farm Together 2 being a relaxing and social game!)

Kasperr, if my post above is too intense - Just have your helpers working on 133 pear trees for every 100 apple trees. (and make sure that you are only using Golden Apple or Apple for your apple resource and Pear, Quince or Plum for your pear resource). Over the period of 4 seasons (68 minutes) your 2 resources will even out if you are harvesting them completely each season.

Kann es sein, dass du an die Grenzen der Lagerkapazität kommst? Immerhin kann man ca. 3000 Birnen mehr lagern als Äpfel.

While it is a relaxing game I think efficiency is important as well considering the progress inhibitor of the timing systems. I've always thought the best use of farmhands is with the trees for permanent placement, it saves a huge amount of time running back and forth to the orchard while giving a consistent flow of resources through all seasons for machines and diamond exchange. So we are mostly on the same page with that.

We would like to add more buildings to deal with resource generation, so that you have more variety. For example, the Winery generates the same 'juice' resource as the other building, but using grapes in this one.

So hopefully there will be more options in the future when dealing with certain resources.
