Animals are the item that takes the most time to do, mainly because they require many custom animations. And each animal is very different to each other, so we can't reuse them either.

We'll keep adding animals though, slowly but surely.

How did horses work in FT1 ?
Will they function as a horse-drawn plow or combine harvester as well?
If they are only for travel, how will we get on/off the horse vs. on off/tractor?
I hope there are solid white horses. :ft2_salad:

They worked as any other animal in the game, they were another animal you can 'harvest' for resources.

Horses that you can ride are a totally different beast! I imagine they would probably work like the train sin FT1, only for travel.

Butm as they require a HUGE amount of animation work, adding them just to 'look cool' riding them seems a bit of a waste but... not sure how to approach this.

Those two were added way after finishing Early Access (particularly the trees, those were added waaaaay later). So we'll hopefully have something similar at some point.

It would be cool to ride a horse and work in the fields on a horse with a cart or a plow. I am ready to pay a high price for such a DLC. But I understand that it is unlikely to be added. Although I am sure many would buy it. It is much more interesting than buying just another dress.

This has been in the back of our minds since the start of the project. But we've been delaying it as much as we could... because it's nothing similar to any other mechanic in the game, so it'll take A LOT of effort to do.

I guess the closest thing would be to see the horse as a 'tractor' you can ride, but still it would require a lot of custom animations and code. And it would also be mostly cosmetic?

It would be cool though, but it's one of those things that would look great in the trailer and photos, but not much more.

Oh well... it's looming over our heads!
