How to use the animal feeder?

It says adjacent right? so if I stick 2 animal plot together will it feed 2 or just 1

will feed both just reminding you its early access i have all 6 of each animals and sometimes you have to move feeders around to show animation of feeder full

Only feed one type of animal.
At the beginning I also tried to place a feeder between two different types of animals, but when I saw that only one type of animal was being fed, I placed one for each group of animals of the same type.
The feeder, once positioned, will have the soil underneath it, of the same type as the animals it will feed.

I mean, different types of animals require different types of produce. So I guess that prohibits feeders from cross-feeding so to say.
