Higher fidelity graphics
Changed up crop growth times
Auto tractor (mows, ploughs, and waters/feed)
Shop down instead of shop stalls

Since it's early access it lacks:
Farm hands
More than one house
Certain animals and crops

There are still plenty of things to do, but a lot of things coming in later patches that the devs said are coming.

I'd recommend starting with the older game first, honestly. It's extremely finished and polished, and the sound design, control, and UI are so clean and perfect. Good amount of customization for yourself and your tractor and your pet aaaaand your house!

This one is still great but feels like it has about 30%+ less than what the first has, although i'm excited for what is to come.

Yes, this one is in early access and the first one is a 6 year old game that the devs worked on consistently. The first one has much more content and quite a lot of DLC if you like. This one will get there and I am sure there will be many new features, but it is going to take a little time. :steamhappy:

Auto mode is not in the first. More of a variety of items then the first one. The town is not in the first one, instead you put the stalls on your farm. In FT! you have an option to start with a flat farm, with an XP penalty. If you pick the original one, you can not terraform. You have to work around the hills and such. It is pretty much the same game with slightly better graphics. FT1 has tons of content!! I would start with that. I beat FT1 twice. Once in original mode and once on flat farm. I say beat... this game is never done. But I unlocked all the content, including all the seasonal content and DLCs. After that there are quests but meh...

More differences might include the sprinklers.. in the first game they watered 2 spaces.. in this one they water a 3x3 area.

Also, there's now a reason for cooking/crafting in the house (you use at least some of those extra items for upgrades).

I enjoyed thousands of hours in the first one and have been enjoying every minute of this one so far.

Quests and shop upgrades now use the cooking, painting, and piano items.

FT2 is more time locked and annoying to play to feel better when we are done
