Removing water tiles?

I placed down some water tiles and now I can't pick them up or move them or find any way whatsoever to get rid of them. What am I missing here?

If I'm not mistaken you can just recycle them. If that doesn't work, placing another floor type on top will.

I tried putting other floor types on top of it, it wouldn't let me. However I have not tried recycling them so I will attempt that today and see.
