That's exactly where I'm at as well. The thing is, as your crops/flowers/animals/tree level up, the profit they give you goes up, so you make more money, but there's nothing we can spend that money on. Meanwhile, how much produce they give you stay exactly the same, regardless of level, always, so you can't increase the diamond production, but everything (new plot, decorations) cost diamond. This doesn't feel well balanced to me :/
I use google translate to understand this, so I apologise if I didn't understand it correctly.
The store might "produce" that much, but I'm still just one person. Even if I was to cover every single inch of my farm with crops, I would never be able to harvest all of that in order to turn them in for diamond.
For an example, in my situation, I'll can buy probably other 2 or at max 3 expansion, but then I'll must to sell one kidney to buy another one.
I have a great production in my farm and I have already leveled any shops in the city to a reasonable level...but i need so many diamonds...
In FT1, was easier to do them.

Ich habe ~265 Millionen Coins die Sinnlos "herumliegen" aber einen ständigen Mangel an Diamanten ;)
Aktuell brauche ich 64800 für das nächste Stück Land. Das sind viele Stunden Hardcore Farmen...
