Barns, small and big
I remember in FT1 the barns increased storage space...are they now just for decoration ?
Because I bought a big one and nothing changed in the storage. :(

This one, is a negative change...what a shame.

Farm buildings are just decoration. You increase storage space with the town upgrades in this one. Warehouse is yoru main storage upgrade now.

The town replaces the stalls on your farm and the warehouse on your farm, it doesn't replace the barns that also did add storage next to the ones I mentioned in FT1.

So in that regards the barns/silos in FT2 did get a downgrade to just cosmetic and not having any effect on storage. Though I don't mind this change, especially since the warehouse is now unlocked pretty early and is the major factor for storage increase.

yeah sadly. i bought one in the beginning and was disappointed. It makes no sense that you cant store goods in barns

Yes, they're just for decoration.

In Farm Together 2, we're avoiding any kind of building with no interactive purpose, that just required to "be there" to have an effect, so people would be forced to place one (or many) in any position in the farm, filling up space for no reason.

Barns are the perfect example of that.

The warehouse shop in town does basically the same thing the barns did. As you increase it in levels, your overall storage increases. Like putting up a new barn. Personally I like it this way better, as in FT1 I had about 40 barns.

But the barns in FT1 was purchasable with the diamonds.
Now, to increase the warehouse levels, you must to use the ribbons the are useful to buy more important objects.
I prefer the FT1 barns but the developers thinks different.
However, in my main farm in FT1, i got 272 barns...all on the perimeter of the map.
So much space in storage. :P

Disagree, this is so relieving that I no longer need a TON of barns in my farm to make storage actually viable. Now I can use them as decoration in certain setups instead of having rows upon rows of them on the side, that was always such an eye sore.

I am at Farm Level 119 and I have more ribbons then I know what to do with. For me it is the diamonds to open the new plots that are hard to get. So using the ribbons to open more capacity so that nothing is going to waste makes more sense. You still have to upgrade each stall to increase the diamonds for each of them. They need a crop or tree or something that gives you diamonds like in FT1... the townspeople 100 or so at a time is not cutting it.

Exactly!! i had so many barns on the outside borders of my farm just because i needed the storage, now i can put down bamboo instead lol

Had the same, until I unlocked the warehouse building which then I could slowly upgrade to remove these eyesore barns at the borders. Now at least you do get the warehouse very early on and it doesn't take a 4x4 or was it 3x3 grid on your farm (still a lot less then what those barns took).

I'd like to see a silo for storing grain that is protected from being sold at the town. This would allow me to collect from the silo to feed my animals.
Sx 23 MAY 2024 a las 14:12
I think in the end it's a matter of taste.
I don't find barns so bad when placed at the edge of the farm map.
And anyway, it was just my opinion.
The developers have decided on other solutions and I adapt to them.
I don't think there's any point in making a film about it.
deadinsanegamer 23 MAY 2024 a las 23:22
i think if the first 10 upgrades where diamonds then it goes to ribbons i wouldn't have a problem with that, or the storage gave a bit more space at the start as an intensive to upgrade it more early on.
