Does this Z3TA+2 work with FL-Studio?

yep
I cant get it to work with FL studios, it doesnt even show up. I checked on the fruit loops forums and they said to reinstall Z3ta+2 inside the vst folder under program files, or inside the vst folder inside Fruity Loops, Unfortunetly steam doesnt allow me to choose a different directory to install Z3ta +2 under. Any help would be greatly appriciated

Did you refresh your plugins afterwards? Just go to your cakewalk vst plugins folder grab the files and drop it into your vst folder and refresh your plugins.

Steam installed it to my vst plugins folder inside my program files x86 folder. To add it to your plugins library you go to channel->add one-> more... then scroll to the bottom and hit fasst refresh. It should show up in Red letters Z3ta+ 2 or whatever. CHeck the box then go to channel->add one->Z3ta+2. CHances are it will be near the end of your list. Hope this helps! :happymeat:
Ya I did the whole Channel>add one> more.. thing to refresh but it wouldnt find anything, I reinstalled FL studios and set the primary VST folder to be the one steam preassigned, that didn't work either, someone on FL studio forums told me to copy the vst.dll from the steam folder into the FL studio folder and now it seems to work. Thanks for the reponses! :)

You have to explicitly scan for it as described in earlier posts, but it works fine. Note that in FL, Z3TA will lose the keyboard focus every time you click on of it's options (you have to reselect the channel to get it back). This can create the impression that it stopped working and or be confusing to fix if you're not familiar.

P.S. Copying the dll may fix esoteric issues, but shouldn't be necessary.

Other plug-in vendors on STEAM are symbolically linking their DLLs in host folders to the Steam folder. This allows them to update their plug-ins without having to worry about copying the files around outside the STEAM directories.

This is on our radar and we hope to introduce a utility to do this in the nearer future.

Create a symbolic link, there is a tool on this website,

http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html#download

Install this then right click on the folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cakewalk that the vsts are in

go to whatever folder the rest of your vsts are in and right click on its iocn. Then select drop as a symbolic link

You will need to launch the x86 and x64 versions from the STEAM client first. This completes the install process.
