Metal Gear Solid 4 - Will it come to PC?

What do you guys think? Will it leave the Playstation 3 platform tk finally be available to PC-players?

I started the game today on my old PS3 console. I have played through ACT 1 and O BOY, this is a great game still. The animations, artwork and characters are great. Til this day the game is awsome.

It's not in vol 1, and I don't know what they plan on putting in vol 2. Probably won't be.

Everyone always says that it has absurd spaghetti code to begin with made even worse by the Playstation 3 being some kinda eldritch horror.
If thats the case im guessing profit obsessed Konami wont want to rewrite the whole thing for PC.

Its too bad, its a great game even tho the "game" part of it could be a bit more fleshed out, hehe.

There'd be no point in making a "Master Collection" if they weren't going to include literal MGS4.

I mean, Konami gonna Konami and all but I would honestly expect them to not make a collection at all rather than make a collection of "All things Metal Gear except S4 lol."

There was a rumor floating around the Internet that PS3 was hard to develop for. And seeing how the overall quality of the games rose dramatically as the years went by, I'm inclined to believe it.

In any case, MGS4 was a huge deal, enough that I'm sure they're at least going to try. I mean, it was like a Halo-level system seller back in 2008.

Thats partially true but apparently the original crew had it working just fine on an XBox 360 as a sort of proof of concept at the time.

I think this issue is grossly overstated. I think it was working on PCs of the time and then they "spaghettified" the code to run on the cell after getting it working on a "normal" CPU/GPU setup.

Undoing or straight up rewriting those changes is probably easier than one might think. And its certainly cheaper than people think. Writing game code isnt an especially high paying job. Also the original collection of 2,3, PW was on PS3. Also also, the PS3 emulator scene has figured out how to get it to run on modern hardware pretty efficiently.

I think it will depend entirely on reception of this collection and Delta. If they see a clear install base, they will probably move a small mountain to get Peacewalker, MGS4 and maybe Portable Ops (this one is technically canon but non-canon). But they might just do two games, who knows. It'd be weird but hey.

I am hoping it gets ported to PC and other platforms because MGS4 has been PS3 only since release. Playing it on the actual PS3 has bad resolution and framerates (for todays standards. the resolution is 1024x768 which makes it look all blurry)

I have recently played it "three" times on my ps3 and I am beginning to doubt it will actually. There are so many references to Sony Playstation and also Apple products, I am getting skeptical about it.

I have my doubts. Twin Snakes never left Nintendo even though Konami owns the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ franchise, for example.

Lots of Playstation titles are still exclusives to this day. Unfortunately.

Strong feelings Vol.2 is gonna be just PW, GZ and TPP period. Maybe Portable Ops.

Probably not. They'd pretty much have to rebuild it entirely. It's just not popular enough to give it the Delta treatment.
