In the end, that's not what matters to me at all!
I love the Metal Gear series and the remake makes a wonderful impression!
The faces are modern and detailed. Everything could have looked much worse. And of course that's a matter of taste.
But you should really ask yourself whether your own expectations aren't just too high?!
I'm very grateful that there's going to be a great remake and that's enough for me!
You forget that this is a remake and is obviously meant to appeal to the old fans.
How do you think it would be received if they had completely remade it?
They stuck closely to the original, which is the best decision!
If you want to talk about the year 2025... OK... that would be an argument if it was a completely new part.
But it is a remake!
So... everything was done right!
I don't see any difference.
We're talking about the character models and their faces.
In both games, these have been reworked brilliantly!
If you want to talk about the look of the worlds... ok... that's something else.
It actually looks better in the RE4 remake.
But the question is...is it necessary in MGS3?
I don't think so. In my opinion, it's actually really good that they stuck so closely to the original. I feel "at home" there again!
I remember the original RE4 as having worse world design, it was actually "more" necessary there.
I don't think it looks like that.
It looks wonderful in this style too. And just because you think it's the "wrong" style doesn't mean it's a step backwards.
And even if it didn't look as "modern" as you claim, that wouldn't be a reason why it would be a bad thing.
I think they've been thinking about the topic for a long time and have chosen exactly the right thing.
Anything else wouldn't have appealed to others either...
Nobody can quantify who would have liked what and how many MORE people would have liked it.
I just watched a comparison video again and it looks almost exactly the same.
At least in terms of the details and the animations. These are very typical for the entire franchise!
So, it's not true that it looks worse. You could say that it looks EXACTLY the same.
But the setting is different. Therefore the lighting and color mood is not the same.
But again... just be happy that something is coming at all before you complain that it doesn't meet your own expectations!
I could not agree more.
Having owned and played most of the MG games on multiple devices over the years.
I just watched the trailer, and was amazed at how dated, and bad the graphic fidelity is.
Its like a game from 2014.
Yes they all have, Elongated, needless word salad cut scenes, with endless helicopter flights (in the last game) but the graphics were fantastic. That at least mitigated the pointless, senseless narrative.
While we waited to get back to SS, and the action.
What the heck happened to this..?
Now we, no doubt, have another "salad" story.
But with cardboard graphics.
Here's really hoping this is alpha footage.
