unfortunately that's just the direction the price of AAA titles are going. Games of this fidelity take multiple years and hundreds of millions of dollars in staffing (since there's literally thousands of developers and multiple support studios, such as Virtuos, involved), marketing, ect to develop
Yep, now the price for non AAA games (but with a known IP) is 60$.

Germany.
SH2 Is a remake just like MGS DELTA.
Wrong again, first you've said:
And now that you've been proved wrong you try to change the goal post, MGS DELTA got Snake vs ape.
Do some research first before you speak.
Let's make a reality check for Delta and NG2B
- Both were built using the original game data ✅️
- Both changing the graphic engine to UE5 ✅️
Compared to Silent Hill 2
- Using the original game data ❌️
- UE5 ✅️
I have no idea why Delta got Snake vs Ape proved me wrong. That thing was available in Snake Eater and Subsistence.
And I never also moving any goal post. Read carefully again.
And It wasn't in some version of MGS3, hence why It's called a return.
So in the end you remain wrong since DELTA is a remake, both by Konami, both in UE5 etc etc etc do some research next time that will save you the trouble of saying multiple things wrong:
You're the one who need to do the research, not me.
It is a remake. I believe the only original assets being used are the voice lines. Everything else has been remade.
You don't get this much graphical fidelity out of touching up PS2 era assets.
It's more than the voice lines. You can see from this IGN's video, the first thing you can notice it's the same mocap in cutscenes, the same geometries from placements to sizes and distances of each objects.
These are the first signs to understand if a game created from scratch (remake) or using the old game sources (remaster). Take a look at Silent Hill 2 Remake to see the differences. Compared to the original, the remake features the same world, but the geometries have different sizes and distances. And also doesn't have limitation in the level design (one big area compared to the original that had many small areas that needed to load everytime we enter it).
And also, the producer himself admitted that they didn't create this game from scratch. Just take a look at this video around 3:38.
