METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER

How much of a REmake you think this is?
Do you think this is the scope of something like Resident Evil 2/3/4, Silent Hill 2? Or more like Yakuza Kiwami/ Kiwami 2, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and The Last of Us part 1?

Because I think the former are full on remakes, reimagining the experience and the concept of the games the devs tried to convey back in their day ; and the latter are, let s say, a very well directed remaster so that it works on modern systems (arguably some more needed than others). At least that s how I see it.

I hope I can play the remake on my PC. Unfortunately I only have an rtx 3060 12 gb.
But I'm really looking forward to it.
I don't think it will be like silent hill 2. I can't say the las of us because I've never played this game.

a 3060 is ~10% better than a 2060 super (the minimum requirement) in pretty much all real-world scenarios (don't go off userbenchmark's numbers, check actual benchmarks) ergo you'll definitely be able to play :>

Konami has been VERY explicit with the messaging in all the Metal Gear Production Hotlines / devblogs released on youtube, it's a faithful/near 1:1 recreation/remake in Unreal Engine 5 along the lines of TLOUp1 / NG2B.

People have already been flaming Konami because fans are apparently just now learning how shadows/lighting interacts with the human body (ie The Boss debacle, where everyone was pissed off about her hair color / facial structure, but then praised Konami for "changing" her in the next trailer despite being literally the same model but with shadows hitting from a different angle,) imagine the nerd outrage if they decided to change the placement of a single tree-branch and made you walk a different path.

Its a 1:1 remake of MGS3. Its a reskin with a few gimmicks thrown in.

You do know that industry terms like "reskin", "remaster", and "remake" do have actual definitions and are not interchangeable words, right? The definition of a game reskin literally means that they've only changed the game's textures with no edits made to actual 3D models.

They've remade all the 3D assets from scratch in a completely new engine for this release, it by very definition is not a reskin lol.

This is pretty much the same game but in UE5 (with forced blurry TAA, calling it).
They wanted to stay true to the original design so the gameplay is 1 on 1 based on the HD Edition with features from 3DS version. This is outsourced by the way.

Look at MG Survive when they tried to make something new in-house without Kojima Productions.
They couldn't even do it right when it comes to easy cash grab like Master Collection.

If you are expecting something like MGSV control with an open world. The Fox Engine remake of 3 is long cancelled and what's left of it got turned into cutscenes of Pachislot MGS Snake Eater. The scenes do look great even for today.
Basically you were being robbed by Konami 10 years ago.
David Hayter and Lori Alan already confirmed they have recorded some new lines for a couple new scenes but otherwise it's going to be 99% a direct remake of the OG. Staying faithful to the original game as much as possible, which is something I'm all for, especially for a series so highly regarded as Metal Gear and Snake Eater.

We are fortuante to have quite a few employees that worked on the original MGS games still employed at Konami that have been working on this game, so it's not being made by a team that has no idea what MGS is. There are still quite a few employees that have been there from the start.

Especially Noriaki Okamura, the game's production producer who goes all the way back to Policenauts days and was high up in command working alongside Kojima, he has experience with all of the previous MGS games.

Just take a look at his resume, he's quite experienced: https://www.reddit.com/r/metalgearsolid/comments/1bipy77/in_case_you_dont_know_heres_the_resume_of_noriaki/

When it comes to remaking MGS1 I don't think they will have any other choice but to branch out and do something semi-open world. The constraints of that game just wouldn't work for a 1:1 remake, but it's good for them to take the safer approach with this one and test the waters until they are comfortable enough to branch out on the next as it will be a significantly bigger job and the scope will be massive on it.

Don't expect that one anytime soon, that's for sure.

They can just snap you Twin Snakes with this game's control and redo the cutscenes with PS1's screenplay and voice acting

.

The master collections were a long time coming and currently have very positive reviews across Steam, you don't even own the games so it's no surprise that's your take on the matter. There were a couple issues at launch but they have worked on them and now are highly regarded as the optimal way to experience the original games.

Many features have been added, and all the issues present at launch have been resolved. While a game should ideally be complete at release, the reality of games today often means post-launch fixes are necessary. That said, the developers demonstrated their commitment by addressing every problem and staying true to their promises.

They should have make a trailer about the improvement of it. I just learned about some of it today.
That is bad PR.

They released a statement immediately after launch, acknowledging the existing issues and assuring players of their commitment to resolving them entirely. True to their word, they addressed the problems and followed up with further updates and patch notes confirming the fixes.

Demanding another trailer for the collection at this point is just baffling.

It's a full remake so asking price is $70.

Not sure why you all and Konami call this a Remake. Resident Evil 4 was a remake... This is, just like Dead Rising, a remaster!

Gameplay is not different, it just got some additions, just like in Dead Rising Remaster. Its still thr same gameplay. And yes, a remaster improves graphics..
