1. Make sure you have the game downloaded and make sure when the game is starting up, the program window says the name, followed by the version of the game. The unpatched version should say something like, "Deceived by the Host (version number) Steam Release"
2. Make sure you have the official patch from their website, not gonna link it due to complications I have ran into by posting links, but you can get there from the Steam Store page without any issue. And make sure you are downloading the patch for the correct game.
3. Once the patch is downloaded, go ahead and run it like you normally would. The Windows Defender/Smart Screen may pop up, but the patch (if downloaded from the publisher site) is safe to run as is.
Note: If you are ever downloading a patch for ANY game and don't feel comfortable running it. DON'T. You're hardware is more important than what may be added.
4. As you are going through the patch, will will eventually come to a point that wants you to choose program patch to get to the game. When I ran the patch, it was from the wrong folder destination and defaulted to the download when the patch was sitting and not the game path. If you are unsure what the path is to the game (due to you possibly having games saved on a separate drive, you can check the file path by going to your Steam library page and right clicking the game>Manage>Browse Local Files. This is will show you the path the game is in. As an example, this is what it should look like when you are do the file path.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deceived by the Host"
As long as you can navigate to the steam folder and down to the subfolders with the game, you got to the right part.
5. Finish going though the installer and like normal and when it is finished, launch the game. The program window should show something like, "Deceived by the Host (version) Uncensored". If you see the uncensored, then the patch has installed correctly and the game should be full.
Hope this helps.
