what's with these games using minecraft art style?
no im not hating and not being like "UGM TH3FT!!1!!ONE!"

I'm saying that like, of all things why this pixelated blocky look minecraft was popular for? And yes ik minecraft is popular for tons of things but it's one of the reasons.

I know people like it but why? Unless the game's built around it I don't see any point. Like, I can understand in games LIKE minecraft, but games that could do without it? Doesn't seem to really be necesary.

I'm only curious is all, no hate on the game or other games, guys.

Don't you mean games with Infiniminer art style? xD

Many games use the voxel/blocky graphics for several reasons:

1. It lets games run smoothly even on older computers and laptops.

2. It makes it super simple for players to make custom content.

3. It allows for unique gameplay that just can't be found in other games.

4. Many people (such as me) like the look.

Oh that makes sense, thanks! And I say minecraft because infiniminer used sprites for the items, in-hand items and characters

And well if played or seen alpha versions and beta. They had this art style though moved towards pixel art.

If anything, it was all modeled after earth... you know that one with trees, green grass, brown dirt, and blue water.
the unrealistic bockly method that some voxel games (or most) use make it eaiser. it takes less time, less skill, and it makes changing the landscape more easier and predictable.

As BigBoy_V said, it gives better fps and allows better customization, as you don't need much skill to make anything in the game.
Minecraft wasn't the first voxel game.

Very true Dall. Voxel based games have been around for YEARS and once was going to be used for a gameboy advance game called banjo poilet and not use mode 7. But mostly likely the memory limitations and hardware limitations.
