PS: The game is actually horrible and linear, but it has nice story even tho it is predictable after 1st act. And pretty good soundtrack, I do have Schwarzwald, Kingdom of Sin and Kingdom of Waste tracks on my phone and I do listen to them from time to time. :)
As soon as possible get to disciple levels inquisition magic, divine magic and magic of miracles for identify, light, healing touch, Raise dead and Magic of Miracles spells. Those spells are essentail for any character class.
You will do fine not putting armor points since your companions will be doing most tanking for you are early and later part of the game. Some points in archery(at least 6 though I recommend 11 later on as you will find some really nice bows) are required at the beginning since with Wisdom skill at low levels casting times are big and it's not a terribly good idea to go on the front lines. Bows also help you open trapped doors and chests from afar without endangering yourself(unless they are unlocked)
As far as magic schools go, Inquisition is by far the best school in the game. 3 great attack spells(Open wounds, Stoning, Burn to Ashes) for all stages of the game plus identify and Light(which doubles as trap and secret passage finder).
From other magic schools, infernal magic has some nifty attack spells and the game's only summoning spell which is also imba. Pagan magic has a few decent spells and shatter is a time saver. Other useful spells are Holy Ground+Divine Mercy combo from Divine Magic to get fast out of dungeons(too bad you can only set one anchor point or this spell would be awesome). Exile from Magic of true Faith is an awesome anti-undead and anti-demon spell and you will be fighting a lot of these things. Archangel's power from magic of miracles is the best buff spell for the priest.
Put 6 points in perception skill early on and leave it there. Alongside the Light spell it was more than enough to find all traps and secret passages in the game.
Holy Aura is a useful skill that gets more useful later on when enemies have higher magic resistance. Second spell related skill you gotta max after Wisdom.
For stats, I'd go something like 5Int 2Con 1Speed or 4 Int 3 Con 1 Speedtill I get enough mana to cast spells and not waste mana potions(something above 200). Then you can feel free to put point in Str for Str related skills, Dex for Archery and some speed.
