i will see later about these followers and how they work, thanks for the help anyway, i think i will need it for this game.
It took me 198 hours to beat that game it's insane in a good way! And I played as a Paladin.
Then the key you have is not meant for the door you are standing in front of. It's been some time since I played Inquisitor and I don't know which door in the mines you mean, but I think that it really is possible that the only solution in this case was to destroy the door.
the keys in this game don't work in my game, forcing me to have to have to blast my way through every door i see.
Also, I have just gone through Levels 1, 1a and 2 of the Iron Mines and I can confirm that the keys work exactly as I stated above.
i think i have a save in front of the door with the key in hand, and the door won't budge, here, screen cap:

As far as technical difficulties of this game go, I know there are some and I'm afraid they won't be fixed because the developers are no more. I'm sorry to hear that you are still getting those red squares, but there are such unlucky players who encounter them a lot - but I believe they really should subside at one moment. Maybe there is something running in the background of your computer that causes this memory leaks in Inquisitor more often. Maybe you could try to disable any apps that you do not need while playing Inquisitor (like Skype, browser, antivirus, whatever). And I've just remembered one thing - do you happen to tab in and out of the game often? This was identified as something Inquisitor doesn't like much. Although it also depends, because I'm tabbing in and out quite often and nothing wrong happens to my game... Well, these were just a few thoughts that might help you getting rid of these squares.
And regarding the main character getting stuck... I wasn't playing much as a paladin and as such don't have experience with what could go wrong with them, but I do know that priests sometimes get stuck when casting spells close to a wall and one then has to move them with keys to unstuck them. But I'm afraid this is all I can write as to this issue...
and what do you mean "the developers are no more"? are they dead? o_o
I mean that the developers disbanded years ago. Key members of the team never were full-time developers anyway (they were working on the game in their spare time) and when they released the game (in 2009 in the Czech Republic) and made a few patches for it they went their separate ways.
