Inquisitor

Inquisitor

i have the mine key, but i can't open the mine door.
i have the key....the door is in front of me....but the door wont open.

every hour more i spent with this game makes me want to punch the dev in the face, there are bugs everywhere, and its the second time i came across a story halting bug,the story is great(so far), but its kind of impossible to play if the game simply ♥♥♥♥♥ itself over and over, can i progress somehow?

have you tried bashing the mine door open? Hit T then hit Z to get your followers to bash with you.
followers?yeah i eventually tried bashing the door open, but it was taking to damn long, so i used 2 seals of lightning and exploded the door open, it took a while tough.

i will see later about these followers and how they work, thanks for the help anyway, i think i will need it for this game.

It took me 198 hours to beat that game it's insane in a good way! And I played as a Paladin.

Then the key you have is not meant for the door you are standing in front of. It's been some time since I played Inquisitor and I don't know which door in the mines you mean, but I think that it really is possible that the only solution in this case was to destroy the door.
i saw threads about the key i was holding(sold it), its the first key of the mine, it is supposed to open the metal door acording to other players.

The fact is there are two "Mine Gate Keys" in the Iron Mines - the one meant for the gate on Level 1 can be obtained from Horathius on Level 1a, and the one meant for the gate on Level 2 can be obtained from Graubner in a secret part of Level 2. And there is also a "Rusty Mine Key" in a chest on Level 1a meant for a gate on the same level.

i am talking about the first key to the same level,i just specified it,and i am saying it doesn't work. The ancient key din't worked also, so i to had to blast my way through every door in the sub levels.

the keys in this game don't work in my game, forcing me to have to have to blast my way through every door i see.

While I think you have to blast through some doors in Inquisitor I am absolutely sure that keys in this game work perfectly - if you use them with doors they are meant for. At least, that's what my experience from the last almost eight years says...

Also, I have just gone through Levels 1, 1a and 2 of the Iron Mines and I can confirm that the keys work exactly as I stated above.
yeah, for you.

I'm sure you must have done something wrong, keys in Inquisitor have been working perfectly for years, there is no reason for them not to work in your game. If you play Inquisitor ever again and stumble upon the same problem, please just post a screenshot here with the door you cannot unlock (a screenshot of your position on the map would be better) and I should be able to tell you what key you need and where to get it.
there is a pinned post about a bunch of technical dificulties this game has on the main forum, i have the red square bug every 2 hours in this game,my characther sometimes gets stuck trying to find himself in his navmesh, sometimes for 12 seconds, and in some cases he gets stuck permanently(altough these are much more rare),i can confirm with 100% certanty that at least the first key of the game, doesn't work, for me, in my current save.

i think i have a save in front of the door with the key in hand, and the door won't budge, here, screen cap:

Thanks for the screenshots and the video. I can see why you cannot open the door - the "Rusty Mine Key" you have in your inventory is not meant for this door on Level 1 but for a locked door in the NE corner of Level 1a. Once you open that door using this key you will meet Horathius who will drop a "Mine Gate Key" for the door you are currently standing in front of.

As far as technical difficulties of this game go, I know there are some and I'm afraid they won't be fixed because the developers are no more. I'm sorry to hear that you are still getting those red squares, but there are such unlucky players who encounter them a lot - but I believe they really should subside at one moment. Maybe there is something running in the background of your computer that causes this memory leaks in Inquisitor more often. Maybe you could try to disable any apps that you do not need while playing Inquisitor (like Skype, browser, antivirus, whatever). And I've just remembered one thing - do you happen to tab in and out of the game often? This was identified as something Inquisitor doesn't like much. Although it also depends, because I'm tabbing in and out quite often and nothing wrong happens to my game... Well, these were just a few thoughts that might help you getting rid of these squares.

And regarding the main character getting stuck... I wasn't playing much as a paladin and as such don't have experience with what could go wrong with them, but I do know that priests sometimes get stuck when casting spells close to a wall and one then has to move them with keys to unstuck them. But I'm afraid this is all I can write as to this issue...

i don't remember any other door that that key could have been used on,but on the forums i read that the key you find down to the decent through the right tunnels is for that door.

and what do you mean "the developers are no more"? are they dead? o_o

Well, I don't know what other players say but trust me on this, keys in the Iron Mines work as I stated above, i.e. "The fact is there are two "Mine Gate Keys" in the Iron Mines - the one meant for the gate on Level 1 can be obtained from Horathius on Level 1a, and the one meant for the gate on Level 2 can be obtained from Graubner in a secret part of Level 2. And there is also a "Rusty Mine Key" in a chest on Level 1a meant for a gate on the same level."

I mean that the developers disbanded years ago. Key members of the team never were full-time developers anyway (they were working on the game in their spare time) and when they released the game (in 2009 in the Czech Republic) and made a few patches for it they went their separate ways.
