Anyway I heard that this will be a feature in future patch.
search bar
I hope it does make it's way into a future patch because that would make things a lot more realistic as well as making long trips less anoying.
And a sandbox mode would be a nice addition.
Great game, and I am enjoying it loads even though it's not quite there yet for PC performance. The ability to either load up a pickup truck or stuff the trunk of a car would be wonderful. Just make it a container you interact with to open an inventory screen for the cars is all that's needed. The trucks, using the bed could preclude passengers from riding (even if it's just one rucksack of supplies, for simplicity) and work just like the car inventory.
It always irks me to find multiple sacks of whatever in a location and know that I need to risk a runnner to get there when I alreayd have a perfectly good crew, or take multiple trips to the otherwise empty location.
You could always up the noise range for cars to attract zombies as a balance. Make those long gathering runs a little more enjoyable to play, a little more challenging and rewarding to pull off, and a little more (and believe me, I hate using hte word, but it fits) 'realistic'. It's more the behavior I think a group of survivors would have, that's what you would use your remaining vehicles for, not just plowing down groups of walkers.
And I saw elsewhere someone saying that making it possible for a zombie holding on the the back of a car to pop open the trunk or tailgate making you drop the bags (making it more challenging) and I thought that was a good idea as well.
