When did Marcus die for you? (Not a spoiler)

When I first started playing I accidently got Marcus killed on the first night. Is this the same for all of you or did he die sooner? later? If you have any funny stories I would love to hear them.

When I first played, I used Marcus exclusivly. He got killed right after we moved from the church into the STW. Tore apart by a Biggun :-(. Pissed me off so bad I didn't play for about 4 days. I've learned a lot since then, so rarely does anyone get killed. If they do I always have at least 2 others trained up, so it's no problem.

Yeah after Marcus died for me I thought ok I will respawn but then he didn't. I have restarted a few times and I am being more conservative with how I play. Second time I got killed in the streets by a Feral Zombie even before the Vet mission

I killed him before Wilkerson becasue I dont like him.

Marcus has never actually died unintentionally for me. He survived all through my first playthrough and then in subsequent playthroughs I killed him, Maya and Ed off immediately to get a random for a new story.

I am wanting to have him survive for my whole new playthrough, I think he will die though

He died when I accidentally had him fall off a radio tower, I didn't know that mashing C and SPACE helped gwet him back up

the black guy has to die first right? lol jk jk. before i even knew you could be another person he died. Ed was my second loss... we were getting that damned watch for Lily, his belongings are still there because i moved to the city and then the farmhouse and havent wanted to risk loosing more people. They are dropping like flies lol

I loaded up a save and spawned in at trucking warehouse, I went to stock up on some painkillers and then exited the side door. While I had stocked up I heard some loud noises outside, but I wasn't really paying attention, because I had just start up. When I came outside, I just saw Marcus in a biggun's grib and before I could really comprehend was was happening, it ripped him in two.

With the help of a couple other survivors I killed the biggun and then I logged off and decided to watch some TV instead. I don't think I was pissed, I just felt defeated.

My Marcus is a survivor. At least so far. On the memento mission, I took Marcus. The mission itself was a breeze since I brought a newly acquired SMG (which I think I have since lost somehow). On the way back though, I encountered a horde in the ravine, and I totally botched the attack, partly because I thought there was a Feral with them and I was panicking trying to get a shot off on it rather than fighting properly.

After getting knocked down (injured), I managed to kill the last of the zombies and make my way up the other side. In no condition to fight, I made a run for my pickup, which in a brilliant display of planning, was parked 50m from the climb up. I just sprinted for it, and as Marcus shut the door, a Feral (which I had not spotted) leapt past the truck.

Probably my closest call with anyone so far.

Actually still have Marcus in my extended ongoing playthrough.. the loss I hated was one that looked like I designed it myself for a "me" avatar and had him grinded up to the almost max...

he went down fighting a Juggernaut when a random horde got alerted.

i beated the game and marcus is still alive.

I beat the game without any of my characters dying.
