Heat issues?
Does anyones GPU get really hot playing this game?

Yeah. My game crashed just a minute ago because of that.

Optimize this game please! It runs fine on frigging ages old XBOX 360 and overheats modern computers. Whitey, please...

Nope. Probably a problem with your video card. Might help to know what hardware/software you have, otherwise people can't really give much advice.

Doubt it's a problem with my card, running every other game I own just fine.
i7 4770k
16gb ram
GTX 650 Ti Boost 2gb
Windows 7 Home premium 64bit

Well, looking around and I see it's a common issue for a lot of people. I'll just wait for an update or something. Early access after all :)

I think it's more likely your hardware, or you need to clean out your computer. I have a 640 and no heat issues at all. I'm currently running SoD and another game...and my card is still cool.

Like I said, it's a common problem. Tons of people are getting it. My computer is perfectly clean as it's only a month old.

Turn V-sync on, or limit frame rate with Precision X (or similar app).

Alright, I'll try that out later. Thank you for the help!

Running a somewhat similar range card with no issues. HD 7790 1GB, even after some 3 hours of gameplay, MSI Afterburner reports that max temperature, at any point, was 45º celsius.

Poorly cooled parts are usually the problem. The game just drops more tasks / workload onto them than those other applications you use, hence why they heat up more. Much like a torture test VS playing half life. Theres only so much that software can be the culprit of.

Just means your parts are not that ready to sustain high workloads, if you're at any point going to have to limit it (lower the fps). Its you problem, as it is of all the people that run on poorly cooled machines, and on stock coolers, stock thermal compounds, stock everything you can imagine. Average, or just plain bad results.

I know what youre saying, but I have the exact same problem, and just like OP I can run any one of another 99 games and everything is just fine. There is NO way that my system is poorly optimised when it can run 9 out of 10 newer and more demanding games just fine, and not run this. This is 100% the developers problem

Have the same problem. Except in my case it causes a blue screen of death after a while.

If your GPU is overheating, it means your cooling system is inadequate. That's a computer design problem, not a software issue.

Optimization issues affect performance the the power of the hardware required to actually get through the game. If your hardware can create more heat than your computer can get rid of, that's your issue, not theirs (the hardware creates a finite amount of heat. Poorly optimized software can't change that).

If you bought a computer at a store, that doesn't mean it came with an adequate cooling system (plenty don't). If you would like to help your computer out, you can normally get more cooling by taking the side panel off. If that's not enough, aim a bloody desk fan at it (just be sure to vacuum the bejeezus out of the area first). Your computer will get dusty faster, but that will keep it much cooler.

So many people defending a poor console port. The guy should be able to run the game with his rig good enough without problems. This community sucks

No1 is defending the game. Its just a simple matter of facts.

Software, a game, optimized or not, can only do so much. Its like using Furmark and saying its not optimized because it blasts the temperatures on a graphics card, and a lot more than battlefield 3 or 4. Well, its working perfectly fine, you just don't have anything even remotely close to ideal cooling to keep it in proper working conditions, and see it thru.

And even when these computers do handle it for awhile, they have a fairly short lifespan. Because running such components in the 80 and 90º celsius does not vouch for their durability, at all.

Not defending anything. Some people are just in denial that their hardware is crap. Most off the shelf computer systems probably don't have the type of cooling system you would need for heavy use. Also, alot of people don't bother to clean all the dust out of their computers and that causes heat issues.
