Most players not using watch tower
Something I started to do is leave atleast the front of my base unprotected by an outpost. Otherwise, you just have the watch tower being useless for the whole game. The NPCs do a pretty good job at sniping everything nearby.

I find from my limited playtime of the game that I fount myself only having a watch tower cause I wanted my guys at homebase to do something. It also depends on which homebase you are using whether or not its worthwhile using a guardtower. I also just build one to make the setting abit more realistic cause im just that kinda player.

I disagree. The outpost only deals with the hordes. So it is still your guard tower that deals with individiual zombies or freaks that come in vicinity of your base. So they really have 2 different purposes, tower being general defense, outpost being HORDE defense. Relying on just that guard tower is asking for a infestation to end up right across from home.

No. Outpost prevent zombies from spawning in the circle. If you have the outpost over lapping the base circle, you wasting defense.

Spawnign is only 1 small part of the equation, they can still move into the area after spawning, spawn in the area within outpost do to missions (such as upset or sad member), and without the outpost your still at risk of a horde setting up infestation on a location right outside your home. (You know when they pick the spot near your base but not your base, so its instantly infested the moment the horde gets there)
My point had nothing to do with spawning, it was about dealing with hordes and infestations setting up extremely close to home.

1. You so over reaching, it's not even funny

2. Just because you don't have an outpost outside your base, doesn't mean you can't place outpost down the streets to stop horde in the first place before they even make it there.

3. It's just an infestation. You gonna have to do them in the game. I don't see what the problem is even if one lucky horde makes it there. Hell, that''ll just make the infestation easier because you'll have the watch tower as back up

4. It's extremely rare you would see zombies in outpost range.... and its only so few. And if you do moral missions in outpost range, I don't see what the point you are trying to argue about it.

Also as someone pointed out it depend on the base point itself. I actually agree with you if your talking from point of view of the church, or a couple other spots. If your talkign the farm in the middle of map, or the alamo. then I disagree and stand my ground on my points. Every potential home site has its pros and cons. In the case of the farm, most hordes aren't gonna come down road, they're just gonna march cross country. In the case of the Alamo, well your basically in ground zero with potential infestations on all sides where your tower can;t hit.
