Any Hero's worth getting in Breakdown?
I know they have one special stat maxed but thats easy to get on a random character anyway. My most usful charcter's so far are two random survivors. One has both consturction and cooking and the other has both Medicine and Farming. I just played them both for a while to get max fighting and special skill along with high level shooting and decent cardio.

I took 3 Heroes over with me to level 2. Eli Wilkeronson for chemistry, Pastor William who has words of inspirtation along with consoling and the most usful one so far I found was Diane Montresoor who has the call airstrike and she also has leadership and Fitness Guru.

The other Heroes I left who I thought sucked were Sgt Erik, Owen Lykins, Both Ritters(dad and son), Charlie Marshall and I just got ed jones who sucks as well and doesn't add anything to the "Team".

So yea is there any I should search out and actually try to get by completing the challenges?

Hero №1 is Marcus Campbell. Powerhouse + Leadership makes one of the best fighters. He sweeps hordes alone easily and with maxed leadership makes "friends" quick too. Also good for group morale.
№2 Pastor Will. He is useless except for the radio option - and you will have 2 "inspiration" radio buttons.
№3 Doc Hanson. Medic + his radio option.
№4 Mikki Wilkerson. Powerhouse + Radio option Sniper support. Has maxed Shooting and Rifles.
№5 Ray (sorry forgot his second name) also radio - sometimes you really need a car, and there is no one around
№6 "Moustache" guy - radio, SWAT team. Saves from big troubles. Maxed shooting and shotguns (I hate shotguns).

If only all those guys had same voices from original game... Pastor Will speaking like some young guy with crazy lines is terrible.

Alan Gunderson is has Mk.15 - .50BMG rifle that supports suppressors (But has terrible recoil). Good for killing Big zeds quickly and from far away. But it is better if you start another game to get Alan. His achievement isn't easy and can ruin the team. Of course, everyone ressurrects on next level, but it can be hard luck to find them again.
The Scientist (unlocked on level 6) is also fun for his hazmat suit - doesn't suffer from screamers and bloaters and has research skill.
Becca is the only Hero that can make tattoo - raises relationships in the group.
But most of other Heroes are either very common in skills, or even a total waste, as they have bad combinations. Some have interesting guns, but nothing too special.

Any hero is worth saving but if i had to choose my 6 to keep.
Doc Hanson for Medics. Your survivors will be up almost imidiately with max Medical facility
Marcus Campbell for all around power house. Mainly who you want to use to accomplish tasks.
Mickie Wilkerson for Watch Duty. With him Zombies will never invade.
Walter Degrasse for his immunity to special infected. The other tasker you want because of his immunity to screamers and bloater goop.
Cpt Diane Monstressor For your fitness instructor. Want to have bonus stamina and stay in shape this guys the one for you.
Calliope Morris For your Gardener. Has a chance of doubling your produce. so instead of producing 3 then 6 then 9 food per day you have a chance of producing 6 then 12 then 18 per day Allowing you to feed a lot of people that stay at your camp. Fit for raising an Army.

it sounds like my team is solid already. I already have a guy with medical and he also has another skill I think farming so doc hason would be kinda pointless. Eli wilkeronson died though so I got The Hunter instead for chemistry.

I probably go for markus and mickie when I get a chance. The other heroes so far I got in level 2 pretty much suck. I have a random survivor who had leadership and reflexes I have almost maxed out with only a couple 6 stars in his stats he has blades as special and pretty much kills zombies in one are 2 hits. Ill probably keep him.

Also with a maxed out farm I already have more then enough food plus the crap load you find in houses. I keep my party at 16 and kill usless members.

Edit. Also infestiations are pretty easy to take care of you just open the door to let them out and shoot them all in the head. Lol you can almost always shoot a screamer in the head through a window outside.

IMO:

Doc for the medic call
Diane for Leadership, Fitness and Artillery
Mickie for sniper (and eventually chemistry if you are not using snyder warehouse as base)
Ray for the car delivery
Dan for Backup calls
they are my must have

my number 6 is usually a guy with reflexes

cooking and gardening are skills very common amonst survivors so I don't carry a character with it through the game

So I found a random Survivor who has Powerhouse and cooking skill. I already have Diane Montresoor with leadership should I just forgot about markus and level this guy up?

I never bring marcus on the RV...powerhouse seems to be a fairly common trait. Leadership isn't as useful as I think it should be either. Just improves your rep a bit faster, but with the way missions are spammed at you I don't think it matters.

I always hope to find powerhouse combined with some other usful skill like mechanic or something on a random character. Doesn't always happen, but often enough. it is also really cool to have it combined with something that gives improved cardio. Put a heavy weapon on that guy and you have a one man army.

Actually...sometimes I never take a single hero along but Ray. The random ones are often better.

I'm on Level 3 now and I'm finding that some of the random ones are better.

I do like Captain Montressor...the artilery call in can be fun if you have some influence to spare...and she is a fitness guru for the dojo. Though if I can pick up another fitness guru that isn't a drunk I will leave her behind. I hate the way they have her voiced. When some one says,"You lead the way." She replies in a whiney voice, "Do I have to? OK, OK, fine!" and she has the leadership skill and was a Captain in the US Army. Drives me nuts.

it is just dumb how Ray is a manditory slot...after a week of driving around dooring zombies I think the car delivery should just be given to the player regardless if Ray in your group or not.

Yea the dirving door challenge sucks. Ray sucks as a character to. Revovlers are the worst weapons in the game IMO. Now that im on level 3 I'm starting to think the car delivery is much needed. I was gonna ditch ray in level two but the guy I wanted to take was missing and no missions were active to find him so I just took ray instead.

I dont really have influence to spare anymore so diane's skill is getting useless plus I had 3 munitions shops and the machine shop in level two so I made a buinch of surppressors. Whistling mines and Steel pipe bombs. Those steel pipe bombs are almost just as good as the airstrike. I basically leave all weapons behind unless it's something I havn't found yet. I mostly just take everything else like ammo, meds etc from houses and the supplies to fill up the trunk of whatever car I'm using which is mostly a police car or a hatchback.

I have one revovler a .22(less Noise) which I plan on using for the challenge. My stash is pretty much full. I had to start using Ak47's as a weapon because I had to much ammo for it and couldn't store more. Which I put on power house characters because no one else can hold the weight easily.

I did think diane's dialouge didn't fit the character I was like what the hell? when I first heard it,then I kinda thought it was funny. But now it's getting a little annoying.
