Worst game I've ever played, hands down!

I'm not usually one to write posts like this but this game is absolutely, unequivocally the worst game I’ve ever bought. I feel ripped off for buying it, I can't get more than 20 minutes into this game before I want to pull my hair out and have to go back to another game. Terrible graphics, bland characters, horrid linear gameplay, nothing open world about it. Now I hear you're basically selling a DLC/Patch update as an entirely new game??? Way to rip off the community that supports you.

It's bland, pointless, and very linier, I hate linear games. I thought I was getting an open world sandbox type of game where survival would be hard, and less arcadish/cartoonish. Instead I got a crapy console port, with little to no depth in gameplay. This game isn't realistic, it's linear as can be, unless you consider go down this narrow path, or that narrow path to an area 'open world' and just gameplay is just bland, once you've played 20 minutes of it, you've seen all it has to offer. Graphics are terrible but the least of my concerns as I've put many hours into games like EU and other titles where gameplay definitely triumphed over graphics, but this isn't a game with much depth, it’s just a linear console port with as much depth as you’d expect from a console game. The devs didn’t put any work into utilizing the PC’s superior resources to offer more depth to the gameplay. I’ve bought some crappy games before, and I’ve always gotten something out of them, this is the first game I bought where I was like I really want a refund.

Tell us how you really feel. Seriously, the "review," is quite lackluster. I mean, you say terrible graphics but don't state _WHY_ they're considered "Terrible." Are you comparing the games graphics to Final Fantasy 14 or something? You say it "made you want to pull your hair out," but never stated what was causing said thing or why; instead leaving it at a vaque "Blargh."

The dlc/patch download thing, if you did more research into it instead of immediately doing the same response as so many other people (including myself, originally,) is due to legal reasons. So, in order to support the game correctly (As well as give it a bit of a graphical update: It was originally an xbox-360 game) they have to "re-release it."

Worst review ever, unless you're looking for comedy gold.

Yea have to agree, this is an xbox 360 title gfx are the same as all of them, lack of any reason after only 20 mins really ? only thing i cn think of is you were expecting some thing different than a realistic survival game unless you can point out the parts that make you bored after 20 mins lol.

IDK I can think of hundreds of games worse than this one that I've played before and hundreds that are better. You must not play many games though from the sounds of it.

I thinks its great. Sure the main campaign is nothing great. but you dont even have to play it. you can just doddle around doing nothing but monstering up groups of zeds. and if your making a decision based on graphics then you have no idea what a video game is.
If you get the DLC for it it makes it ten time more enjoyable. Breakdown is sweet case all you do is survive and get rescources to keep your base functioning and i love it. I just starting getting into the Lifeline Campaign and it to has issues but its still great and it feels different enough to be a refreshing experiance.
the only issue I have is how the combat feels. It would of been nice if they went for a more Deadrising feel. Lots of zombies but great weapons. In the end the only way to go is focus aim and any gun you can put a supressor on. And the viechles are made of cadrboard boxes and trashcan lids. But as an over all experiance Id rather play this then Deadrising 3
But if Deadrising 1 pops up on PC this game is dead to me.

@Br1m5ton3 W0lf lol you have obviously never hit a small dog in a car, despite their size esp if your moving they can imobilize it real bad so running over ppl even in the SUVs with bull bars can take out your engines ability to move, most of the cars in SoD are fairly realistic except reverseing it should be alittle more durable but you can still get bones thru important parts like fuel tanks or lines or breaks.

the year 1 survival edition the existing owners of state of decay will get 33% off but it should be more to buy a bloody patch of the game that i already have.
and saw u were just playing tw attila its a good game but performance is like trying to play crysis 3 on a commodore pc so and u cant even chaneg the ingame engine in SoD i changed the engine to suit my pc specs but now u will say budgie have a low end pc and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i complaining about performance but the fact that the extreme setting in tw attila is meant for next gen gpu is enough

The worse zombie game ever? Not quite. Try "Yet Another Zombie Defense" and I guarantee you won't think SOD is the worse.

SOD isn't great but it does offer decent rpg-ish elements. Graphics aren't everything!

Hmmm, I don't mean to sound like a jerk or anything but I'm... not exactly sure what you're saying there. I'm fairly certain that there is no way to "change an engine," of a game on the fly. Please do clarify.

On the subject of Total War: Atilla... yeah, it's a fun enough game but the dlc gouging is terrible; and that's coming from an avid Overkill supporter. I'm sorry, but in just over one month time the game shouldn't have 3 faction dlcs. (For what, $8 each?) and a blood + gore patch (just yesterday, and it costs $3, I believe.) I will say this, though... no point getting upset about it; not like they're reaching into my wallet and taking my money. *Checks wallet* Yup, still there.

I respectfully disagree completely with your review. I have spent over 500 hours on the game and the Breakdown DLC and it has a lot of depth that you won't see if you don't put some time into the game. You may not like the game but I feel that most people would like it.
