Try not breaking open bundles (which may look like big boxy crates or old-school doctor-style medicine bags/gym bags), caus invidividal items only go to giving you influence points and not overall material points (ammo, food, meds, and construction materials) unless you absolutely need to. You want "intact crates". Once you search somewhere and see a crate in your loot box, look for "press spacebar to load up" or somesuch prompt, and then you know you got a resource material, which then appears as a big green military-style duffel bag on your back. You can only carry one "duffle bag" at a time, so if you've already picked up a crate of supplies already (ammo, meds, etc.), you can't "stack" picking them up. Consider noting where you seen the crates, go back to your base and unload, then go back for it.
Look everywhere in the construction site for your crates, anything that has that offset "white glow" look to it. Even if it doesn't make sense that you're looking for a crate in an object the size of an upright mailbox, sift through it, you might find an intact construction crate. Ludicrous as it might sound, I've found bags the size of gym bags full of meds in something as small as a nightstand. So don't take searching everywhere for granted because there might be something for you to raid.
Construction Sites
Warehouses
Industrial Supply Stores
Homes being renovated (usually have a For Sale sign)
Garages and Sheds
They can spawn in different types of containers such as:
Supply Pallets (they look like square piles of boxes/cinder blocks, etc.)
Shipping Crates
Toolboxes and Tool Chests (a wide variety of these)
Be sure to select the option to 'Load Rucksack' and not 'Break Down Rucksack'. Also note you can only Load Rucksacks if you have a home base. If you are not a member of a community yet, you cannot use the option to 'Load Rucksack'
