How to add State of Decay 2 to steam library?
Hey there people, as the title states I'm trying to find out how to add State of Decay 2 to the steam library, I can't seem to find the program at all through the "add nonsteam game" option.

Hello, I recently found a way you can add state of decay 2 to your steam library even though its contained as an windows store app.

Before the instructions begin I would like to give credit where it is deserved.

Starting Windows 10 "Store App" from the command line (Microsoft Answers)

Prerequisites:
  • Steam Client

  • Windows 10

  • State of Decay 2

  • Windows Store App

Instructions:
  1. Create a text document containing the following:
    @echo off
    cd "C:\Windows\System32"
    start "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.Dayton_8wekyb3d8bbwe!AppStateOfDecay2
    @pause

  2. Save the text document as SOD2.bat (not SOD2.bat.txt)

  3. Move SOD2.bat to C:\Windows\System32

  4. Open steam

  5. Add a non steam game

  6. in the dialog browse to C:\Windows\explorer.exe and select it

  7. In the "Game Properties" dialog replace the contents of "target" with "C:\Windows\System32\SOD2.bat"

  8. Change the Game Title to State Of Decay 2.

  9. Change the icon to an appropriate State Of Decay icon. I've provided one HERE[i.imgur.com].

    The game properties dialog should now look like the following image.

    Congrats and enjoy.

if you can not make that script to work. I did few adjustments and it works for me.

@echo off
cd "C:\Windows\"
start "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.Dayton_8wekyb3d8bbwe!AppStateOfDecay2"
@pause

I made a map in other hd partition and named it scripts, then i did save my text file as SoD2.bat in that directory. E:\scripts\SoD2.bat

Insted of :

7. In the "Game Properties" dialog replace the contents of "target" with
"C:\Windows\System32\SOD2.bat"

I did replace that target path with:
"E:\scripts\SoD2.bat"

just a side note. command: @pause tells steam that sod2.bat cmd are still up running which means your game title are properly shown in steam friends list, until you close the cmd window

I found GloSC to be the best solution to this: https://alia5.github.io/GloSC/

Can still use Mouse & Keyboard if that's what you prefer.
