*HELP* State Of Decay 2 Login issues with windows store

I know this is not the place where i should be asking for help but its the only active place about SOD 2 that i could find.

So i just pre-ordered this game and when it came out on Friday, i opened it up on windows store (seeing as how i installed it before hand) and it told me to set the gamma like all games, after this it said click any key to continue. I did that and then an empty white box popped up for a second. Then another box popped up and it said login failed: you must select and account to play the game. I was a bit confused seeing how i was already logged in on windows store so i tried it again...no luck. I restarted my computer, updating windows etc. I eventually went on to delete and reinstall both windows store and SOD 2. Still no luck so at this point i'm stuck. It would be a major help if anyone could lend me some assistance as there are not many guides for this type of stuff since it just came out.

im having the same problem atm but i have no solution sadly

I had the same issue, you have to log in to Xbox live as well from the windows menu, even if you don't have an xbox. After that it loaded.

For me, I had to completely disable my antivirus. (Stop all components, as opposed to just stopping it from running. ) I have trend micro that apparently doesn't work with this game. Once I completely stopped it from running at all (even in the background) the game loaded and I could finally play. I no longer get that error.

i tried restarting the game 3 times but it worked for me.

So i logged into my Xbox account and it worked at least to some extent...now it says login failed: saved games could not be retrieved. Any ideas?

restart it a few times. i havent had that problem before but other than restarting i dont know any other fix

I had this problem and managed to solve my problem by doing this: Launched the xbox app and couldn't sign into my xbox account with that program. I had to remove my account Under Settings->Account and I was able to sign in afterwards.

Sorry, but did anyone really think it would be simple ?

I've been replaying SoD recently. Got the itch after a bunch of new SoD2 gameplay vids. I am going to wait and see how some of these issues work out before picking it up. I wish I had some helpful information on this topic. Best of luck 👍

You need to be logged in on the xbox app to to play it. If you dont have the app you have to install it. And If you have bad luck you need to fix that app your self beacus you get a x406 error and the it all will go down hill. Beacus you have to do stuff in powershell. And if you have more bad luck like I have now you hol system will go down and you have to fix a lot of problems.

It took me 3 hours to finally fix it so what I did was reinstall xbox app well then I got this error 0x404 and 0x406 and I did stuff in power shell and did not work until I finally came on the forum of xbox where somebody did have the same stuff with the xbox app and on the dem forum somebody say download xbox provide app and I did it and it finally works. So that powershell stuff dont do that. Yust install xbox app and xbox provide and it works again.

I found a solution! You probably disabled XBOX services as I did. Solution is Windows/search a type there services -find all Xbox services there and double click and put there startup type to manual in all Xbox services. Works for me
