SOD1 vs SOD2 | Graphic Analysis

I made a video to compare the visual differences between the original SOD, and the new SOD2. The new game looks sooo much better.

Props to Undead Labs for making good use of the Unreal 4 engine.

they should have just delayed it, spent more time on it and stayed away from MS, if i was this developer and i was getting these sort of reviews i would feel ashamed, but gamers need understand every developer is on certain level of quality and talent, everyone works with best they have

and what makes it worse, you have MS sites giving it padded reviews, when the majority of sites are giving it 5/6 out of 10 just making the whole situation worse

They are giving it trash reviews because it is trash. The entire game is 10 hours long and it's all about building a base the same as state of decay 1, but when the base is complete the game ends. No storyline or anything just bam, game over upon base completion.

Np i get it man, we have all been there, and that is what i mean when i say they should have delayed it, told MS just to wait, it just hurts them as developers and the people that really wanted to love and enjoy the game

guess we just have to wait and see if they are company that will pull out all the stops to turn the game around with patches and content or are they like others that just let the game and there credabilty sink

I've only watched vids of SOD2 but SOD1 has such a unique look and atmosphere in it's visuals and that makes it a bit scarier imo. SOD2 looks like every other thirdperson game under the son, there's nothing scary about it visually at least from the vids. New engine might be better technically but not sure about the end result. Maybe some kind of post processor shader effects would make it look more interesting.

Neither of them are scary at all. You stick the camera behind the character and make it 3rd person, and you've removed any sort of potential scares.

Not completely, I had a few scary moments with ferrals and such. Sure FPS is a more scary view but for a third person game SOD is not without some scare factor. Anyway SOD2 does seem visually less scary from what I'm seeing in gameplay vids.

After playing "The Forest" State of decay looks like a childrens game...
